I’m an old geezer on the community network who chips in here and there. Over a period of time I get a feeling that some of our less experienced members are not too sure about what to initiate as useful topics for discussion / debate. To help them out I have put together a set of five questions which they may ask themselves before initiating discussions. May I request more experienced members to chip in with more questions / suggestions / guidelines to make the whole process more purposeful. The set follows:-
1. does the topic add value / knowledge to the community?
2. is the topic worthy of attention / discussion?
3. will the topic lead to / inspire action?
4. will other members like to refer / share it with others?
5. will someone from our community benefit from the topic?

a manager is concerned with what is happening. the leader is concerned with what is happening when "nothing" is happening. |
