This was a news item in the Times of India 19th March,2008 with head lines " World 's richest man doesn't use office car. Mr Warren Buffet was recently in India. And there is a buzz about his successor of Indian origin. He has not taken salary hike for 25 years and possibly on date. He pays back the company for minor items such as phone calls, postage and favour from office personal that are personal in nature, does not fly in company jet for personal visits, and gives four times bigger pay package to his Chief Financial officer.
What is your take on Indian corporate world?
In India, the context should have been other way around! We should see the generation of Leaders who strictly say 'NO' to bribes paid to political groups, politicians, bureaucrats and allow their private charter planes to be used by the politicians for their election campaigns, etc. in order to get the Government Policies to suit their business needs. All these things come at the cost of customers and consumers, the beneficiary is the businessman!
