Cybercrime, A business, Profitable too
How a business ?
Criminal activity has always emulated the legal business. However, cyber crime today is not organized in one or more international organizations. It is more interdependent than a little world based on groups whose operations are complementary. For example, the individual or group owning a botnet (network of zombie computers) capable of launching DDoS attacks or distribute unwanted messages, you need to acquire email addresses. Someone older, who own the boot need not know or have any contact with him, plays the role of stealing and selling the needed addresses.
This business model reflected in many ways the business model of legitimate businesses. Thus, as the presence of an automotive company promotes the creation of other industries, such as making carburetors, bolt, etc.., Cybercriminals need not be connected organizationally, but only for mutual economic benefit.
The modern cybercrime is like any other business. It behaves according to traditional business principles such as profitability, ease of use, risk management and attention to emerging markets.
How profitable?
Clearly the most important criterion for any business is profitability, and cybercrime is no exception. In fact, cybercrime is extremely profitable. They steal large amounts of money in a single action, but also small amounts repeatedly. For example, in 2007 alone reported an average of one cybercrime per month. Most cybercrimes are investigated internally by the same organizations concerned or by the respective authorities conducting undercover investigations.
Internet can be a safe place
To cope with cybercrime we need to develop and implement various security strategies.People take for granted here that the anti-malware software and risk management strategies are vital at all levels, critical for any organization.
However, a successful strategy against cybercrime requires a community effort. There must be a fully functional Internet Interpol and a growing user computer training. It must have legal instruments that require users to behave safely and legally in their interaction online, as well as legal consequences.
While it may not be possible to eliminate cybercrime, as it has been impossible to eliminate crime in the real world, I think people can make the Internet a safe place. People need a united community in which each individual put their bit in the security building online. A community like this can and will succeed in the fight against cyber criminals in most cases. . And that most cases is a goal worth the fight.
What do you all think friends...???
