You Tube and other video-sharing sites are fast becoming a part of our daily life. So says a survey released this week by the Pew Internet and American Life Project. For example, the number of wired adults who visit a video-sharing site on a typical day has almost doubled in a year. The survey, conducted in December 2007, included 2,054 Americans age 18 and older. In 2006, 8 percent of Internet users had visited a video-sharing site the day before the survey; that number jumped to 15 percent in 2007. That growth is largely driven by wired adults under 50. Thirty percent of adults between 18 and 29 who have Internet access visit a video-sharing site on a typical day, up from 15 percent last year. The report says this growth links to the much bigger story: All types of websites—not just Web 2.0 sites—are quickly ramping up their video offerings.
