What makes the American management environment so different from Indian one. When we examine this we see that their managers are endowed with so many processes that generic to their work which is homogeneous to the whole environment. So a CEO once he is uprooted from his say Metal industry environment to Automobile he will find it easier to adapt due to this generic nature. Some of the processes an American manager can depend on are,

1)      Processes that confirm to the need of the Economic environment as a whole

2)      General emphasize on Stake Holder’s value maximization

3)      Emphasize on product quality delivered

4)      Dependable Research and Development team and budget for the same

5)      Need to grow on a time bound manner

6)      Well articulated economic environment that complements marketing processes

7)      Well articulated Legal environment for furthering commerce

8)      Well articulated Academic environment that churn out conscious and skilled Labor.

9)      Well articulated differentiation of labor from Academia onwards

10)  Well articulated Political processes that compliments commerce

11)  Well endowed markets where goods can be easily exchanged for money

These make life more foreseeable for a manager in his environment and can fix targets he need to meet and get work done on a generic terms irrespective of the kind of Industry one is driven to work for. No networking or cartelization is allowed so that the aggregate risk sharing need of the well articulated environment for the same is not tampered with. The returns originating in idiosyncratic transactions are limited to ones welfare and some are not endowed infinite pay off and others miniscule ones

americans manage the above referred to 11 triggers of situational / circumstantial conditions . we indians manage the minds who are the creaters of these 11 triggers. keep it up indian consultants

Even though these points are very valid, CEO's or Head's in India do manage to shift between companies (even local and MNC's) quite easily.  With varied processes, environments and work culture between the different companies that they manage to shift over, they have not complained about being unable to cope with the new environments.  In fact, they have been able to demonstrate higher success rates and capabilities than most of the American counterparts.  This I would like to mention is what clearly demarcates the American and Indian management environment.

Of course, it would be lot easier if all our organizations had the similar management environments; this I guess would enable our leaders to perform much better.

Mr.Mathew you have posted a nice article but according to me Indian managers are far superior in knowledge and their work-ethic compared to their american counterparts and that can be proved from the fact that they are the ones who are globally successful and appointed at senior management positions in MNCs.Take for example:Vikram pandit who is the CEO Of CitiBank,likewise there are many who do not need any introduction...Moreover Indian students are the ones who make it big in theIr careers after passing out of reputed global institutes like Wharton,London,Harvard business schools.

At last I would say "There is no competition to Indian managers globally"!!!

The 12th one I left out is a 'democratic environment' or 'fraternity', 'sorority' and 'equality' one that is practiced with care and consideration.
