Some of the Mahathmaji's Beliefs & Practices are ever-green and can be practiced even now. 01) Like his definition of Customer and how we should treat him/her. 02) Non-violence, 03) Concern for the lower rung of the Society, 04) Tolerance to the Counter-Views, 05) Austerity, 06) Self-Discipline, 07) Truth alone Triumphs ("Sathyameva Jahayathe").

Whether it's Mahatma's policies or some policies which Mahatma has taken from other sources really doesn't matter. What matters most is that using the said policy, will one person can get the benefits he needs without affecting the needs and wants of others should be looked into.

Hygienic understanding conflicts in our activities are always acceptable. However, when it becomes a hurting factor to another, then definitely, we should see policies which Mahatma used.

I think we truly follow mahatma in making our movies super hit to strong bottom line of the company which actually produced this movie.
apart from that we never believeor think of taking initiative to follow in our real life. more than 90% of govt's work is done by breaking principles of mahatma as this is very much accepted at a faster rate in our society.

Now a days, 90% of the movements / protest against governments for various causes, are in non-violent form. India therefore follow MAHATMA.
Sachin Ji, What ever your debates. They touch our heart and soul. We want to follow Mahatma but we are forced to go the other way. Yes this could be our shortcomings no doubt. What the other parties are doing or following is not the concern of the insight. They just want to know wheather we follow Mahatma or not. This we could say that we are not.

We don't need to follow him at all. We have greater inspiration on all fronts, from far greater Mahatmas.
For politics, we should follow Chanakya. By following non-violence India has become a weak state. Terrorists, naxals, Taliban are creating havoc.
India needs someone who understand what India stands for, not some lame follower of Gandhi to run her government.
We can see the effect of more than 60 years of "self rule" today.
Gandhi was right on one front : he sought dominion status, not complete independence. His foresight was correct : India might have been better off as a dominion under the Empire than as a fiefdom of the Congress dynasties.
So we did not follow Gandhi when it was needed. Today we do not need to follow him, we should follow Srimad Bhagvad Gita. Gandhi was inspired by the Gita and the Ramayana. He didn't invent anything new.

To possible extend we follow. Just compare with other nations such as Afghan, Pakistan, Israel, Palestine, Iraq, Srilanka, Krikisthan(recently), yemen etc, you will notice the remarkable difference we achieved, in restraining from violence, terrorisim & we insist on peace deal always the first preference.

hello Sachin, even though MAHATMA's methods/systems are very relevent even today,we are not following.simple reason being change in mindsets and we haven't become victims of certain agonies what those people have faced at that time.

"There is no God other than Truth" The God is Truth, The god is love, The God is spirit, I want to say that You are the God or We are the God. The Hindu mythology says I am the god and the god lives in me. The rest of the religion also says the same. Here in India we had devolved a culture of Hero worship and kept us below God. The human culture has created God out of fear and started worship. Fear is due to lack of self confidence. I request everyone to understand your being and be confident.

All his teachings are derived from our scriptures. When we do not follow our scriptures than how can anybody think of following Mahatma. I do agree with Mr. M. Probhakar Rao. That his teachings are very much relevant today. But in today's world very few has the tolerance and patience to read and practice his teachings. Though it is very much needed.

No, I don't. Change is a practical and for survival we must follow the present trends. I don't find him to be followed in these days. Frankly speaking our India is following the policy and character of Mahatma Gandhi and due to that countries like Pakistan, Bangladesh and so many other small countries are threatening us every now and then. Iron cuts iron policy is to be followed now a days. Ideology and Character is also to be changed time to time for replying in a befitted manner to the opponent. If some is harmed by my statement, I am extremely sorry but it is my view and I am through practical.

No.

Mahatma Gandhi attained the stature he did because there was a cause he could live his life for , and he lived to see his dream ( of a free India ) fulfilled.

If Gandhi were to be alive in these times , I wonder what cause he would have championed , since India , and the world itself , is reeling from a multiplicity of problems , all of which seem unconquerable.

But it is a fact that Gandhi was in a majority of one , even when surrounded by a lot of giants. By sheer force of his character , he was able to attract others to him , even when they did not believe in his methods , only because they also wanted freedom for the country. In the absence of this cause , how many would have gathered around him , even in those times ?

Vivekananda was another towering personality of his times , but since he did not mount the political platform , his appeal and influence was limited.

no one is following in these days mahatma because they are in a hurry life and for the growth some are tending to lie so people need not to follow all his sayings but they need to follow some because it helps to build their life in a good manner
