East going west way and west going east

First of all great info sujatha. I didnt know this was happening. I mean what great heights has our humble lungi reached ! Amazing. 

Now i feel that it is wrong to say we ape their culture while they adapt to ours. See it is just adapting to each others culture and experiences. Imagine if all the people in spain or most of them stop wearing bermudas and shorts and instead wear lungis, would it be a case of them aping us. Nope ! This is true globalisation i feel, wherein different experiences are witnessed by multicultural and diverse people and that which benefits them or is to their satisfaction is adapted. 

Today the world is waking up to the benefit of spices in food like we indians have. New research has revealed that spices lower the cholestrol content in food and make it safer for the consumer. Tomorrow we might adapt to some way of life of theirs, there is nothing wrong. 

This is correct that we going to western culture more than they are coming to our culture.I pursuing mba and we hav a subject of indian ethos in which a statement i want to code"Eastern Windows and Western Doors "it means that we are allowing the others culture to enter more faster than our culture.

Other side looks, always,  greener. There are people who likes to dress & practice habits of east or west. It is a way of life some preferred to live.

yes Sujatha you pick the amazing topics. This is good for young generation because they are in the race of west culture. West culture again adopting our heritage & old tradition because they had tried all new things but not gain so much. Our tradition is best but young generation not active on that.

I think this is quite natural process of change in life style.

yes Ms Sujatha, our value system has, slowly, been gaining root in the west and we have started to incorporate their junk in our life. hope that the TIME runs in circles and we catch up with our values soon.

It is an individual's choice to wear lungi, but definitely we are going away from our ethics, moral values which may be harmful for the formation of healthy society, so we should stick to our Roots, as said by Shri Muralidharanji.

Thanks,Sujata for referral.I do not buy theory of E to W and W to E.It is out of curiosity. The Lungi is airy and it best suits farmers to stay cool in the field.This wear will not be suitable in European countries. 

"Lungi" is good and so is "Veshti". But still a loose short, made out of "Banian" material is very comfortable.

There is not much in the way one dresses up. East is following the west in dressing up because of the difference it makes to the outward look at least. After all, looks play a vital role in availing opportunities most of the times. Would you notice, the appearance of a rural but knowledgeable person, if he/she does not display a slight westernized behavior?  that is the incentive the western look gets. It has nothing to do with the realization, as all except the citybred realize the comfort of our own style.   While most of us might dress up in the westernized way,  very few of us follow the western philosophy.      In contrst, the westerners first tend to change the external appearance before understanding the inner change, that should come with the concept of OM.  Barring a few, most of them end up not learning any more than the eastern way of dressing up.   

This observation is correct in many ways because west has realized the importance of few eastern value system and deep rooted science behind them. We tend to blindly follow their eating habits, music & apparels to be able to try something new. We feel if we follow Indian values in the modern world, we will not keep pace...! It's just like we are attracted to neighbor's achievements !!

Do we term it as "curiosity drive"?  Yes. pendulum is oscillating! It will be great, if we realize early to stick to our Roots, as westerners have understood the "inner peace" and "tranquility" that are offered if we follow eastern culture!  Who will stick to what culture is left with "TIME", for the time-being! This fused culture is totally confusing!
