Excellent job by the Inistitute and the a salute to company secretaries?

ICSI is doing a good job and its entrusted with an important responsibility of making future company secretaries, maintaining and improving secretarial standards besides many. The developmement of this country depends upon the development of corporate world. The development of corporate world depends upon how well a company runs. For running any company successfully, the role of comapny secretaries is significant. The directors of the comapny may concentrate more on business expansion, meetings, borrowing funds, mergers and acquisitions, production, sales, cost cutting, planning and forecasting etc. issues and they may not have time at all to look into the secretarial isues. But, the secretarial functions are the backbone of any company. Looking as to whether the company functions within the objects, as to whether the books are maintained, whether reports are filed, how the final accounts are prepared, defending the company by advising the directors from time to time, taking such action against the persons and other companies if required etc. are the few functions of the company secretary and infact the company secretary peforms plethora of functions and all are inclusive. Company secretary is an expert in company law, SEBI rules and regulations, FEMA issues, Stock Exchange issues etc. as such his advisary services are warranted by many in real time. Company secretary has to equip himself with the recent developments in law and as such he will be learning regularly making it very clear that the profession is along learning profession. A simple mistake done in the company may have disastrous consequences and as such more care is to be taken while running any company and as such it is advisable for every company to engage the comapny secretaries to review the entire thing in such intervals even if appointment of whole time comapny secretary is optional.

I am personally impressed by the syllabus prescribed by ICSI, the bulletons and the president note especially. President inspires the students and I think its very very special.

The seminars and conventions of this sort conducted by  ICSI very frequently are very very important and emminents to be invited for this. The seminars and conventions to be useful and there should be more participation by the students, members, acadamicians, industrialists, teachers, lawyers, chartered accountants etc. Our vision always should be inclusive and the the success of any inistitute depends upon the issue as to how well it could attract talent, recognise talent, use the talent and gives due recognition to the talent. We need more younger participation in the seminars conducted by ICSI. Young may have many innovative thoughts and they may have a great vision. We must give a platform to the ICSI students and the members to expose their views constantly.

India is going to lead the world soon and there tend to be more and more incorporation of companies in India and as such we need more and able company secretaries. Knowledgeble company secretaries can play a crucial role in developing the Indian corproate world.
