Indians spent Rs.5.8lakh crores extra due to inflation in last 3 years.  According to a news item published in "The Times of India" today i.e. 29-06-2011 Indians spent Rs. 45000 crores extra in 2008-09, Rs. 1.6 lakhs extra in 2009-10 and Rs. 3.7 lakh crores in 2010-11 altogether it comes to Rs. 5.8 lakh crore extra.  The average inflation was 5% between 2005-06 to 2007-08.  The average  inflation has risen to  8% during these three years from 2008.  The difference of this 3% costed this 5.8 lakh crore extra spending.  This is three times higher than the 2G spectrum scam, almost half the size of Union budget, over 4 times higher than all subsidies during 2011-12.  Now who is the culprit here.  Who should be hanged.

Union Finance Minister accepted the problems of inflation and said "inflation poses a major challenge to the Indian Economy" addressing a meeting of India and American corporate leaders at a conference on the "US India Economic and Financial Partnership in Washington.  However, there was no mention about the measures on how he is going to contain the inflation.
