There is some relief for the common man as Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee on Tuesday announced in Parliament the withdrawal of the newly levied service tax on healthcare.
'The Indian Express' had reported March 18 that the government would roll back some of its tax proposals, including service tax on healthcare services and the proposed 10 per cent excise duty levy on branded garments.
Bowing to demand from all quarters, Pranab Mukherjee today rolled back the proposed 5 per cent service tax on air-conditioned hospitals with more than 25 beds and on diagonistic services.
FINALLY NO ONE WILL FAINT AGAIN ON SEEING THE MEDICAL BILL..
