Agreed on most of your points but sujatha how do you explain both india and pakistans dismal performance at the Asian level ? Forget europe, we arent able to dominate the sport at the asian level. In the recent champions trophy we managed to draw with malaysia even though we beat the pakis in the final. South Korea is another team which beats us frequently.

See these are just excuses, real talent and hardwork will take you places. The malady ailing us in most sports except cricket is that we do not aspire beyond playing for the national team. Because getting selected for the national team is the passport to a govt. job either in the railways or airlines. 

Of course your point on the turf ground is very valid. But if you want to be competitive, you gotta keep your eyes and ears open. First of all our sports federations require a thorough cleansing and they require practioners of the game to be the administrative head.

We have a pathetic example of Asia cup,That we won it,after defeating Pakistan and each player was offered 25k each,cant we afford a FEDERATION,wherein at-least the morality of players is not disgraced.

Thanks,Sujata for referral.The European countries control media and advertisement and revenue and so the game. They added speed to the games,which does not suit to Asian countries.
