How to end Corruption in India.

If one checks history we see every developed country was replete with it its metamorphosis. If one take time to read the book “Extreme delusions and Madness of the crowd” by John Mckay one finds, France, Britain, Netherlands which are corruption free now, once was plagued by it. From the stories one find that ‘get rich quick’ behaviour prevailed then and the main cause of it can be attributed to low living standards accorded by the economy.

So to prevent corruption in India, the solution may not be easy and faster, the economy need to grow to an extent where the ‘wealth of the nation improve’ along with the ‘living standards’ of the citizen improve. The economy should start demanding on the citizen only what is in his or her ability to fulfil. Like expenses the generally happen, like fees of offspring for schooling and education, health care, transportation, weddings should be rational enough to cost lesser. For this to happen, the purchasing power of the currency need be higher, the environment need follow ‘welfare’ norms accorded by economic sciences.

Some small things, like representatives of people need to restate their job roles. For example if an entrepreneur opens up business in a community, there should be human and social infrastructure available for the representative, to know  that such a thing has happened, and there should be enough support available to the entrepreneur from his side to run the business risk free, if he raly needs it. Societies  need be organized to have such system formal and informal in place. If a businessman is doing fine then one need not have to worry, but if he falls into trouble or cannot take off for want of ability to find markets, infrastructure, finance etc; it should reach the representatives ear and he should be using his good office able to reduce such risks, so that more entrepreneurs and capital class form in society raising the living standards and employment level of the community. The representative should be endowed enough to maintain a team of official analysts and economists for gathering information in each society he functions and keep track of the well being of the society. If infrastructure is lacking it need be improved on careful study of the analysts etc;.

Future manpower development in schools and colleges should incorporate projects and curricula that meet the general need expected in the economy.

Businesses need be run transparent. CEOs job need be restated to meet certain role criteria and responsible targets conducive for the economy like gaining employment, low inflation, better quality of products and low market distorting tactics. These are missing now in India, since businesses are run so secretively as to not to meet any criteria need of them by the economy.

Society need to form into only two clusters, one who can stand on one’s own and one who are handicapped to not in a position to do so. The leadership need to address these two problems from two platforms, like enhancing and encouraging more to  be able and giving a helping hand to the handicapped, instead of trying to handle everyone on one platform where the ‘dynamism’ of the environment become complicated so as not to produce efficient outcomes in any.

The countries mentioned above had similar circumstances as prevailing in India now, when corruption was intolerable there, then they changed their economic and political criteria as mentioned above with slower regulation or corruption and eradicated it for ever and the culture their no longer need or tolerate corruption.

One need to strategise like this which will take careful planning and imeplementation with carefuly palnned time targets before one can end corruption in India like everywhereelse as implemented earlier.

Most of the communities in India (such as Bengali), are succumbed in 'Culture of Poverty'(a theory introduced by an American anthropologist Oscar Lewis), irrespective of class or economic strata, lives in pavement or apartment. Nobody is at all ashamed of the deep-rooted corruption, decaying general quality of life, worst Politico-administrative system, weak mother language, continuous absorption of common space (mental as well as physical, both). We are becoming fathers & mothers only by self-procreation, mindlessly & blindfold. Simply depriving their(the children) fundamental rights of a decent, caring society, fearless & dignified living. Do not ever look for any other positive alternative behaviour (values) to perform human way of parenthood, i.e. deliberately co-parenting of those children those are born out of ignorance, real poverty. All of us are being driven only by the very animal instinct. If the Bengali people ever be able to bring that genuine freedom (from vicious cycle of 'poverty') in their own life/attitude, involve themselves in 'Production of Space'(Henri Lefebvre), at least initiate a movement by heart, decent & dedicated Politics will definitely come up. - Siddhartha Bandyopadhyay, 16/4, Girish Banerjee Lane, Howrah-711101.

In my opinion, if we truly wish to eliminate corruption, black money, fake currency circulation, money laundering, etc. we should demand demonetization of higher value denomination currency (Rs. 1000 and Rs. 500 notes) overnight and ask people to deposit the amount in bank, prove their legitimacy and get a Biometric Smart Card with the amount incorporated for future transactions. Later Rs. 100 and Rs. 50 denomination can be demonetized.

Yes valuable information, indeed India needs changes in restructuring its development policies to cope up with the welfare activities meant for the people to elevate their standard of living. The growth of nation's economy and the people's standard of living should go hand in hand. Thanks for the referral Mr.Mathew Ji.
