This happened today.. and I am still thinking... So thought of sharing my thoughts...

http://www.abc.net.au/reslib/200810/r305921_1336351.jpg

While filling my water bottle I looked at the water and thought : The earth is created so beautifully. It has all one can needs to live. Air, water and food. How thoughtful of someone to create all this... The bottle was full by now and I went back to my desk, still looking at the water inside the bottle. It was transparent, odourless, almost tasteless and the most wonderful art was it took the shape of its container. Perfect, I thought.

Shifting my attention from water I realized water is not me and I am not water, am I?? I am a woman. A wanna be woman of substance. A woman living in society. Yes The Society..

Society : Here there are many who expect woman to be Super human. She may work in the office but she has to work at home. She may leave her mother's house and live with the husband's family still there are questions - Does a woman accept her husband's family as hers! Then there are points like a man should prefer a working woman or not! Do women care about there children and husband or are they too career centric! And much more than just this..

But it is water's nature to adjust everywhere and adapt everything not human's. Humans are born with a type of nature. They adapt as much and as long they can. Then why should a women be targeted?

http://t1.ftcdn.net/jpg/00/03/00/14/400_F_3001446_puw5T8HRFuZD123iNXKzeoy89fpUHR.jpg

A list of questions never being asked :

Should a working woman marry a working man?

Do working men accept their in-laws as their own parents?

Do working men care about their children, give them enough time?

A woman never poses such questions , they are always by some man who has judged the whole community based on few examples. Just imagine if a woman rated man on the few cases which happen everyday, they will be framed completely negative!!

It is better to understand that every individual is different. The creator created water and he created us. He did not create us like water and water like us.

http://piperbayard.files.wordpress.com/2011/02/man-and-woman-heart.jpg

Lets say it loud and understand it deep.. 'I am not water, You are not water, We are not water'!!

I have shared my thoughts... Now please share your thoughts about this.... :)

Cheers to beautiful life!!

Nice thought Sarika. though i would like to clarify a few things from my opinion. Have you ever seen a women marrying a man without knowing whats he doing. The answer to it is - very rarely you find a women who may genuinely fall in love and care not for what he does, else a software eng. needs an eng., a doct. needs a doct. husband... Men do treat their in-laws with respect if not treat them as their parents. As a man's nature we are not as expressive as women, we keep things to ourselves.

God has created Earth and it is perfect in the way it has been done, Women are Respected Human Beings. The problem with Human Beings is they do not Value things till they loose the thing. This is a part of Understanding Life. EveryOne can be happy as they are, but, the Desires that we get into makes Us UnHappy and we live our lives in Misery.
Literacy makes a Person feel that they are Superior Beings. In a Way Literacy can be compared to Power. When an Individual has Power, the Individual ABUSES the power(generally speaking). Literate people tend to Beleive that they are Superior Human Beings. They do not Understand that their Parents or the Society or the Teacher who has taught them are not more literate than them. That was the reason that Good Kings sent their children to GuruKul, so that they can Understand Life.
A Qualified Individual generally Boasts of his/her qualification without Understanding that the Other may have different qualities which makes the World Run in a Particular Way

The reason a child is sent to school or college is to be Educated and not Literate. The Parents and Teachers in the Race for making their children Heros keep Moral Science and Ethics aside and make them Earn Better Marks.

In the Race for Being No. 1, a person does not realise that there can only be one person who would be no 1.

A Women who Respects her parents would always Respect Elder People which includes the in-laws.

Generally, a woman or a man reciprocate the Respect or DisRespect to the in-laws. Respect or Trust is an Individual perspective of Expression and cannot be dependant on the Spouce's Behaviour.

Your article is thought-provoking. Every person has to make a compromise between comfort and compatibility. A woman might get married to a man who is a dream husband. He has all the money she might need, a career she admires and the good looks she expects from her husband. But is he compatible? Does he like rainbows as much as she does? Does he like to walk barefoot in the park? Is he enchanted by the sounds, sights and smells of the forest? He may be more interested in Cars or the Stock Market. If there is no compatibility then the woman would get locked into a marriage that can't make her happy.
On the other hand, she might come across a man who she can spend hours and hours with. He loves rainbows and other things she does. Time seems to vanish when she is with him. However, he just doesn't have it in him to do well in his career. She can be good friends with him but marrying him is something she wouldn't even consider.
A woman has to chose between these extremes. How much she tilts in one direction would depend on her personality, background, preferences, education and circumstances. Striking the balance between these two extremes and maintaining that balance is the secret of a happy married life.
Either way, the best things to read in life are the ones written between lines. No matter who you are married to, you cant help being delighted at the sight of new beautiful small flowers on a morning after rain!

You have asked so many questions and given so many answers in such a short article. But we all know the questions raised do not have a universal replies, because human nature changes from person to person. What looks like a problem to one may be a normal duty ot other.Still thank you and appreciate you for your nice thoughts, sarika

Love and only love can make men human. You must feel yourself as water only when you fall in love. Only expect to give, it makes you happier. Nice to read. Thanks

Nice read and thanks for the invite @Sarika! I think that as water adjusts itself to various containers, a human, be it male or female must adapt him/herself to the likes and dislikes of his/ her partner in order to see a successful love life. Man and Woman are created as equals in nature! Many may have thoughts that Indian culture puts Women down. But let me share that after having studied the scriptures thoroughly (up to my understanding) I have come to see that Indian culture respected woman to be "Shakti" or "Energy". Saraswati- Goddess of Knowledge, Lakshmi- Goddess of Wealth and Parvathi- Goddess of Health and Prosperity are all feminine representations. Having Health, Wealth and Knowledge is all that a Man needs! And these women are placed at such high esteems in our country!

Yes, I agree with the point, that off-late, things have changed and cultures have been misinterpreted and men today (that is since a couple of hundreds of years before) feel that they are the dominant species on earth. They feel that they run the show, that they are stronger, and they are more deserving! Wrong at all levels! Until Men realize the importance of a Woman who is a mother, a sister, a lover, a wife, a daughter and a nurse, they will, in simple words, never be complete. Water can flow or can crash! So, my sincere thought to both men and women is to say: "I am water... and so are you"! Understanding is the key to the locker of Love. Doesn't matter if it's a man or a woman.

Expectations from a woman are more as we, men depend on women for most of our emotional strength! Women, be proud of this!

And as Men, we should know what a woman does and means to us and our families and be more considerate towards her.

That's "A Fine Balance"!

Tx again for reading!

I somewhere agree with your thoughts but there are very similarities between motion of water with motion of human life such as:
1. When water starts from source say for example Ganga from Gangotri, the force there is huge and it is hard to control there, so is when a kid is born s/he has the force and very hard to control.
2. As river water comes down and meet with different moving water bodies it gain force and start creating cities and development so is the case with growing babies to teenage, they have huge co curriculum and free thoughts which are very creative and helpful for SOCIETY if taken into consideration.
3. As water comes down slowly from hill to plateaus near industries it get polluted and ways are somehow blocked or changedbut continue the force of development so is the case with human life, as teenagers are turning into youth, there mindsets are changed, some get prone to bad habits and some stay with good habits and person with good habits create great companies or do great works.
4. Near cities like Ganga near Kolkata is only used for only drinking and domestic purpose, this is as same with human beings, at the age of 40 or above people choose to do same work and found themselves with no scope of change but they are somehow useful.
5. Lastly when river meets the ocean or bay it lost its identity but now people goes there to watch and worship that merger like in Kanyakumari, similar is the case with human life, when soul leaves body people go there and worship rather pays sympathy but salutes the work done by man after his/her death.
So as per my Discussion and opnion,
"I AM LIKE A FLOWING WATER AND WANT PEOPLE OF THE WORLD TO BE LIKE FLOWING WATER."

Why this war of supremacy?
Why this war of fairer sex always?
Why we are not respecting opposite sex?
Why men are not respecting woman contribution to society?
For the betterment of society we should go hand in hands, so let us unite & go together with due respect for each other, to form a better society which have equal place for both men & women.

Everybody has to adjust at home and at workplace as well. Those who tread soft go a long way. Those who can take the shape of container like water remain more happy if not successful. Agreed that working women are expected more as compared to men.
