When inventons are created, both applications and drawbacks come into existence. Same happened with IBM's new RFID Clipped tags, that are aimed at mantaining the consumer privacy.
Firstlty there were various skeptical concerns related regarding information and cinsumer privacy, as it was felt that there will be no securities for private informations.But IBm came up with its innovative cliffed tag, that has put consumers at their ease.
This tag is quite applicable for retailers because of its mass scanning properties and ca scan maximum number of tags at any specified time. The RFID clipped tags will hold their applications in various other processess like:
- Speed up transactions with inceased security
- Scanning of people with private tags
- Identification of robbery targets
Since , these tags involve wireless transmissions, technicians are worried that the clipped item level tagging will create an infrastructure, were there are lot of opportunitites for misuse to occur.Moreover privacy is not the only issue, expensive costs make a great deal of difficulty for clip level tagging to be implemented.
