"Indians are poor but India is not a poor country". Says one of the swiss bank directors. He says that "280 lac crore" of Indian money is deposited in swiss banks which can be used for 'taxless' budget for 30 yrs. Can give 60 crore jobs to all Indians. From any village to Delhi 4 lane roads.Forever free power suply to more than 500 social projects. Every citizen can get monthly 2000/- for 60 yrs. No need of World Bank & IMF loan. Think how our money is blocked by rich politicians. We have full right against corrupt politicians. Itna forward karo ki pura INDIA padhe. Take this seriously, You can forward jokes, then why not this?

I fully agree with Mr. Neeraj that this piece needs to be corroborated. However, it is a well known fact that large sums of money are stacked up in Switzerland and other banks around the world. A maximum portion of this money is from corruption and the rest is “Black” money. It is naive to expect that the same people who have stashed away this money (our politicians and bureaucrats) would do anything to bring it back to our country. Also, they will never change the rules so as to make it impossible for these things to happen in the future.

The only way there is any hope is by a change in attitude of our politicians or for someone like Gorbachev or someone totally un-selfish and clean to come to power in India and induce the change in the whole system by enacting fresh laws. Also, the electoral system has to be changed and if need the constitution of our country (of course, the democratic system has to be maintained).

Repatriation of Indian unaccounted money locked in foreign banks could take our image to a very great height, alas, who bothers? BJP, in its election manifesto, maintained that it would do anything and everything to get the money back - after losing the general elections miserably, they have kept this issue in back-burner! Swami Ramdev is yelling about it in his Bharat Swabiman yatra! The issue of bi-lateral agreement is still pending.

This fact has been around for quite sometime now. Has anybody taken any action other than forwarding it to others? Atleast has anybody filed a public interest petition for this? Or ....?

We are also seeing so many corruption stories breaking out in the media every alternate day. What is the action being taken? Other than to dismiss the concerned from the Minister's post (only to induct him at a later date) or transfer the employee to another place (again only to be transferred back giving some bribes).

I remember a joke (but which is cent-per-cent correct). A war breaks out between India and Pakistan. Both countries decide to use their nuclear arsenal. But neither country succeeds. Why? Because the nuclear bombs of Pakistan do not explode and the Indian army does not get permission for using them since the Parliament is still debating on the issue.

Indians only talk on issues. But when it comes to action? I will take back my words if somebody succeeds in recovering atleast a rupee of this Swiss money, or for that matter, any other corruption case.

Anybody ready to take up the challenge?

I concur with your sentiments Murthy ji. But without any corroboration, I'm afraid, I can't forward dubitable information which I get 'fed' on the Internet. I'm sure you understand 'due-diligence'. Please name this Swiss Bank Director, the Swiss Bank or quote where you got this 'nugget' of information before expecting thinking Indians like me to rally behind your call. You understand my skepticism, I'm sure, in this age of charlatans proclaiming to be the next messiah for any & every subject & topic.
