I hope it is not true and one shouldnt take the western media's word on this. The western media is always biased especially when it comes to india because of its impressivbe march. If they have the proof, why dont they place it before the IOC and expose us to the world.

Maybe it is true. Instead of calling it a bribe we could call it as "Money paid for Supporting the Bid". One never knows but it MAY BE an official payment too. Purely business deal when thousands of tourists would have visited bringing millions of dollars. The Atalanta Olympics earned the City around 6 billion.  

But you are right that the officials paid so that they can loot from us Indians.

When there was a debate topic on Corruption - Possible / Impossible, I wrote:-
"May the World community reduce / stop it, it may be a lesson to us to learn & practice. Till then.... India's corruption is not a single variable that can be thought off , to be isolated. When it is a matter of between 70K & 100K, to switch the avenue from Hamilton to Delhi, Mr. Kamlesh being a Sec Gen, offering this incentive for training to other members might not have seen as a big drawback.

Yes this is a fact according to News Paper. Lets see what kind of exemplary punishment will be meted out to such traitor of Nation. Yes now probably we know why there is a large scale theft of funds has taken place in creating the infrastructure for CWG with Suresh Kalamadi heading everything right from corruption. India has become a laughing stock all over the world.
