Hi friends,I got this wonderful piece of information & wanted to share with you all...plz give your opinion after reading....

The exact period of Vedas, Upanishad, Ramayana, or Mahabharata may still be a matter of debate, but no body can deny the fact that during all these periods feeding a hungry person was treated as a greatest service to man kind. “Anna daanam mahaa daanam” is a very popular Sanskrit verse which has motivated millions of Indians to perform this divine act and in ancient India in most of the temple premises there were annadana centers. But, things have changed drastically and now we can see very few temple premises which run annadanam schemes.

Healthy rural Indian economy has become sick as British rulers tightened their grips on administration and in 1947 when they left India for ever their policies have forced millions of villagers to hold begging bowl in their hands.India can regain its lost glory only if our younger generation can live with dignity and I feel it can be done only through education. But a hungry stomach in a body will not allow its mind to concentrate on anything else unless its demand is fulfilled.

The big question that arises here is are we losing our moral values day by day???????

Hey Sangram i liked your post.....According to me i think poverty is cyclical. It is a generational cycle that is extremely hard to break. It is taught to the children by the parents. It is a way of life that is learned and accepted. In the beginning the child may try to break free of it but often times they lack the tools and the resources to do this on their own. Resources being education, motivation, and strong role models. The initial surge is strong and well meant but the follow up dwindles, money to continue education may become a factor, the family may not continue to be supportive of the child going to school, they may need the extra income in the household, a pregnancy may occur, transportation may become an issue, numerous setbacks could occur and without continued support from a role model complacency occurs and the generational cycle is perpetuated........

you are right dear everyone i.e 90% of people are selfish and they do not want to see anyone else except their own ones or they don.t have time to see others except earning their bread and butter. This is a joint responsibality of entire community to help people.
u allm are totally wrong
as per my thoghts nothing can be done without work if i myself can not do any thing foor the por people then how can i make other to help.So it will be better if not only think or discusse but we should spread our hands to help if we can.

IT'S NEVER ENDING BECAUSE OF OUR CORRUPT SYSTEM FROM POLITICS TO ENTIRE ADMINISTRATION. EVERY ONE IS BAUTHERED ABOUT HIS OWN SHARE NOT OF SERVICE TO POOR ONES.IN COMING TIME ALSO THINGS CAN ONLY CHANGE IF CORRUPTION IS REMOVED OR DESTROYED , BUT WE DON'T HAVE SUCH POLITICAL WILL.

Yes. After attaining independence, we have taken sufficient loan and grants from the world bank and other countries. Instead of distributing those wealth to end the poverty of crores of poor people, the money has been blocked by the political, business class, rich and the inhuman citizens of this country-depriving the poor anything from that money and rendering them the poorest of the world. We show the photos of the poor to the world STILL and beg money from the world and the rich here are the real MONEY BEGGARS of thwe highest order. We have to burn thosebodies of the Rich through the black MONEY!
