Imagine going to your doctor's office or the hospital without having to write down all of your personal information and trying to remember each detail of your medical history. I will love that...

A statewide health information system would allow patient data, details about health care coverage and medical procedures to easily move between doctors' offices, hospitals and insurance companies.

That's exactly what health and information technology officials want. They're meeting with hospitals, insurance providers, physicians, universities and IT companies to lay the groundwork for a system intended to improve health care in the state.

I believe individual physicians must intervene to catalyze the national adoption of electronic health records, or EHRs.

The following technologies and terms are often included in discussions of information technology in health care

  • Electronic health record (EHR)
  •  Computerized provider order entry (CPOE)
  • Clinical decision support system (CDSS)
  • Picture archiving and communications system (PACS)
  • Bar coding
  • Radio frequency identification (RFID)
  • Automated dispensing machines (ADMs)
  • Electronic materials management (EMM)
  • Interoperability

What is happening is everyone is not getting the benefit of the technological advancement in healtcare. In most case the technology is not affordable..People are finding it difficult to implement. So the question is what can be done?? so that the benefits are taken by all...

Broad use of health IT will be

  • Improve health care quality;
  • Prevent medical errors;
  • Reduce health care costs;
  • Increase administrative efficiencies;
  • Decrease paperwork; and
  • Expand access to affordable care.

The future is something we make, not something we discover. And the future is easy to make.. The second revolution took place in the latter part of the 20th Century. It was driven by science, making plastics, airplanes, televisions and innovation in chemical and mechanical technology in health care.

yes even i agree with manpreet that manual or human testing is good because it will be mostly error free even if it is time consuming the result is much better than auto testing where the accuracy levels are very low than manual testing.
