In the last two years atrocities on young girls and students is on the increase in the state of Andhra Pradesh. Police department is not able to tackle this menace for one reason or the other.

Yesterday, in a little known village, Raghunathapally located between Hyderabad and Warangal a 30 year old man tried to rape a 18 year old Intermediate student when her parents are away in the fields for daily labor jobs.

When she resisted, he struck her with a hammer and made an attempt to rape. Villagers caught hold of the man and surrendered him to police. While the police are making arrangements to shift the unconscious girl to a nearby hospital, the villagers dragged the man from the police jeep and burnt him alive in front of the police. Police watched the scene as dumb spectators. The culprit succumbed to the fire and the victim is recovering in the hospital.

Now the villagers say ‘we do not want such things to happen in our village. To teach a lesson to others, we all killed him and no single person is responsible’ and took the collective responsibility for the incident. Police are at a loss to proceed further.

Instant justice !!!  Support or don’t support ??

Don't support!

He should had been handed to the police, and taken to the court, where whatever punishment as per the constitution (imprisonment/hanging etc) could be sentenced by the court.

By supporting such barbaric act people set a trend where killing of every person for every act ( no matter it's legal or illegal ) in this way, is given the similar reasons. Eg. later they would set a lover couples on fire.. for the act of love, which is against their rule ( no matter allowed by constitution). And after that every group would define their own rules.. like kabeelas.

( Corrupt police and corrupt judiciary is a different issue, so pls don't mix it with this. )

I do wholeheartedly support an instant justice as it will not waste the precious time and unnecessary money spent in the timed process. Like no time waste when the food is having full taste. The cake also tastes better when it is hot. My theory behind these delicious example is that when the case is fresh then it has worth and curiosity but when the time passes it looses the initial interest from every angle.
i support, when people exhausted with existing system, bureaucracy, government, the reaction will be in this type only sir. in ap after sabita indra reddy taken over charge of home ministry our system became too worse. money making became primary criteria rather than security. security standards are worsen like anything. in hyderabad we daily see civil police are busy in checking or inspecting two wheelers and writing challans rather than concentrating on social security.

My brother recently had an incident, he purchased new bike he got all documents, civil police stopped him inspected and said pollution certificate is not there pay 300/- fees. my brother said it is new vehicle it doesn`t require pollution certificate upto 1 year, SI told no way pay 300/- or keep the bike here and go away. according to central motor vehicles act new bike not require pollution checkup upto 1year. SI says i do not care and charged fine.

in this type of systems what people will expect from polic dept. they did right.

Instead of instant justice, there should be punishment like arab countries to the victim who are accused particularly in rape cases.
Thanks for sharing, murthy Sir.

Its difficult to be on either side of this. But if a person caught red-handed nothing should stop to make immediate (if not instant) justice, by authorities only.
Remember, conventional delays in our judiciary is resulting in fearlessness of law and issues like corruption, crime are increasing. So justice requires at times, immediately.
The instant fury of the villagers might have resulted in killing a person alive. Its nothing but taking the law into hands. It usually happens in Bihar. Its a barbaric act. At the same time, the idiot who tried to outrage the modesty of girl, when she resisted he beat the girl with a hammer on her head and continue to do his act. This is again a demon act. This needs such treatment anyway. The snail pace justice system and police inaction might have provocated the villagers to resort to such barbaric act. People are losing confidence in the justice system. A girl committed system on the same day when the police failed to respond on her complaint against person who is harassing her in the name of love. Govt. and its machinery shall think of.

I don't support but at the same time this is something that should open the eyes of those who thought administration/governance is just another job. You cannot take your time and order inquiries. You cannot wait to see if some advantage can be taken out of the situation. We have a system which stand useless today. We need to develop it to suit present situation. Our society may loose faith in whatever studies we are doing. We are animals without our system.
Sir, In this matter what to be written ....... If some body writes supports there will be Controversy on this and if any policeman sees they will say this is against law... If some body writes Not to support then it will be against the Relationships and responsibilities...
