This is all about how powerful the Digital medium is. Power to the Internet!!

I have come across this very interesting article on the marketing week UK written by Louis Jack. Not only is it very insightful in terms of the verticals that are managing their consumers on the digital media but its about the strategies that they have employed to get their clicks and their eyeballs from their customers!!

"Brands that embrace the digital space have much stronger relationships with consumers than those that fail to exploit the power of the internet."... Louis Jack quote. "A “digital consumer” is one who uses the internet to both shop and research their purchases... He further adds!! Interesting isnt it.. Read on more over here...

Nice article Makrand....yes Internet is not only making people shop online but also make them the brand ambassadors of a product, in today's times most of them go for online shopping for brands only which is known to them in the first place, and internet allows one to do a bit of research about the product and brand and this makes the consumer more knowledgeble and will help in the WOM of that brand and by default he will be the brand ambassador. Simply amazing just by clicking and knowing about it, one is becoming the brand ambassador.

sunil, thanks a lot. Internet has its own charm and particularly the social networking sites. Not only are they engaging but you see the strategy they employed was very simple. They encouraged people to post and post and upload and upload and the comments that they received was always an 'ENCOURAGEMENT' to do more.

Introduction of 'WIDGETS' added the thrill of presenting something with your 'OWN' creative ideas and that was very self satisfying. Convergence tech indeed Sunil, thanks a lot for being here :)

Mukul, its really fascinating to know that when you really explore the medium you find ways and means of getting your consumer where you want him to be. You also get him back if he has strayed :))

Interestingly its the interaction that does the trick. ENGAGING your consumer in meaningful interactions that will excite him about the brand that he uses day in and day out and makes him talk in amazement about it. It is the process of INSTANT GRATIFICATION that makes him talk about his 'EXPERIENCE'. This is what makes internet powerful. thanks for being here :)

Hi all, What we call "digital marketing" or "twitter marketing" or "social media marketing" has actually changed the way consumer think and behave. It is helping companies to directly interact with their consumers, get the instant feedback, making entire revaluation process less costly and very fast. I personally beleive that with more than 5.5 Million and growing braodband connections will completely change the way advertisement and brand positioning is being done. As the methodology of tracking cost per impression will gradually become more accurate on internet, it will reduce the cost of advertisement, create a positive impact(now we have started resisting the pesky telecalls or unsolicited mail or television advertisements and we are paying for all of this and want our way to be accepted) with company and consumer interaction. I see the share of internet advertisement revenue growing from present 1.6% of total ad spends.

Super and insightful article. Problem solving and information search are basic prospect/customers' behavioural traits. Marketers help the problem solving process of prospects/customers . Digital convergence technology will create a new way of info search and problem solving. Savvy marketers will use convergence digital tech to help prospects and customers. Obviously, word-of-mouth is strengthening with digital convergence tech, hence, internet and convergence tech (remember Airtel has 11 crore customer base and it is said some 60% of Indian population is on the mobile - the instrument of convergence tech) will turn customers in to ambassadors.

Great article Sir :) and a great Digital marketing does make sense. Digital marketing provides great and wide spread opportunity to any brand through which it can build relations with the mass around the world in many ways. A wider and every class of mass can be easily reached in a personalized manner. The company or brand can in fact also track the customer behavior easily and have a better insight!!

You see the fun in internet / digital marketing is that there is an instant interaction. The kind of strategies that are put up to ensure quality of interaction is just amazing. Its all available at a click!! It is this ease with which the brands are interspersing themselves with their Tg that is making the consumer "live" the experience and hence the WOM!! That is the key.. Thanks for being here Jayant. :)
