Two methods of interviewing has grown wide these days. One is Phone Screens and the other is In-Person interviews.
Phone Screens:
In these kind of interview a person has to give a complete picture of himself on viral communication. It's tedious job to do.
May be these ideas would be of help to you for a more successful executive placement interview:
Be prepared
Do your homework before the call. Research the company and even try to know who is going to call you and try to find out a little bit about that person. Try to find out the company's "executive interview style".
Listen
Be a careful listener.Good listening will give you the insights you need to adequately answer job placement questions. Make sure you take a moment before answering questions.
Communicate Clearly and Positively
Communicate in the same manner you would if the interviewer were sitting across from you. Use the same body language, and the same energy level. Keep your comments well-thought out and concise - and avoid any negative comments.
Ask Questions
Ask questions about the company, the management culture and the executive position. This not only arms you with more information, but also indicates a strong level of interest in the management job opportunity being presented
In-Person Job Placement Interviews
In person job interview can be on one to one interview, a causal interview,an informal interview and can also be a panel interview.
These points may be of help to you for your interview:
Do your homework
Learn as much as you possibly can about the company and about the management position before the interview
Know where you're going and Arrive Early
Most companies want you to arrive before your appointed time in order to facilitate any necessary paperwork.
Dress for success
Be professional - remember that the first impression you leave is a lasting one.
Make a strong first impression
Firm handshakes, good eye contact, high energy and enthusiasm all count when seeking executive level placement
Listen, Listen, Listen
Not only will you appear interested and focused, but you may actually learn something you did not know - either about the management job or about the company.
Honesty is the best policy
Always answer questions honestly and directly. But - be prepared to handle obstacles and objectives that may come up. Try to turn a negative into a positive by telling what you have learned through your work experience
Close the Interview
how do I compare to other management job candidates; what would you like to see accomplished during the first 3-6 months of executive employment; how do you measure success in available management job positions. Etc.
Ask for the Job
Find out the timing of the hiring decision, and how soon you should follow up.
Go Home & Write Thank You notes
Make sure you have the human resources contact information you need for follow up before you leave the executive search or job interview.
