Hello!!

As I was wondering that Lalit Modi’s Indian Premier League (IPL) dream was given a huge fillip by the early launch of the ‘rebel’ ICL (Indian Cricket League). However, as IPL became much bigger than ICL and  the reason: Right from the beginning, IPL was steeped in numerous controversies, allegations, ungentlemanly incidents, rumours, and charges. The first of them was that Modi and BCCI had turned the new cricket league into some sort of a ‘family affair’.
The  Indian Premier League has overshadowed ICL in market blitz.As ICL's objective is to promote the game, give opportunities to cricketers and to create jobs.

The idea to launch IPL is to:-
  * sell the cricket as a high involvement reality show that would appeal to all audience.
  * IPL has eight team to franchises for perpetuity.
  * SONY has bagged broadcasting right for 10 years.
  * Beside acquiring team,each of these franchises has spent money for acquiring player for their team.

So, for this IPL has to acquire different types of marketing strategies,promotional activities etc to make it bigger success.IPL is full of glamour & celebrities which acts as stimulants for its success.

As IPL provides marketers opportunity to study and learn from the game's advertisers, players, and coordinators. All the hype , advertising, promotions, celebrity endorsements that make IPL a full masala show. Let us understand, debate and brainstorm on various marketing strategies of IPL.

An evaluation of the media coverage and consumer discussion leading up to and following the game. We will answer questions such as:

    * How much coverage is each advertiser generating?
    * Which ads are consumers discussing?
    * What is the quality and tone of the coverage?
    * How does the event impact consumer engagement with the brand?
    * How are pre-game promotional strategies influencing discussion?

These are the strategies which is followed by IPL which makes it to overshadowed ICL in market.
