These days alone, the number of vacancies are increasing in different MNCs. More people may be required when work on the SEZs begins. All kind of vacancies in huge number and in high salary are waiting for people but unfortunately, there is no much skills to match up with. It is bad enough finding employable manpower.

High attrition rates compound the problem when one has to find the replacement staff equally fast

Sector after sector, the human resource crunch is both similar and stark. To the aforementioned industries - construction, media and entertainment and ITES - suffering from manpower shortage, add retail, telecom, banking and financial services and hospitality. Little surprise that HR executives across hotel chains are worried about filling vacancies generated either by attrition or by growth.

Condition is even worse in the construction industry. The Indian construction industry faces a heavy shortfall of talented & skilled employees. It has become a matter of worry & not much effort is seen from the govt. side.............

Even as the economy gallops at 9 per cent a year, what's really making news is the shortage of skilled manpower in the boom sectors. There is fire in the economy and businesses are seeing a staggering growth.

So, what is the situation now  is ---- we are living in houses, using roads, working in structures that are constructed by low skilled employees....

So, can you trust the place you work or live????

Well, the situation may be unique to India only, as the western markets are still in the doldrums and supply far outstrips demand. So I have two thoughts - perhaps its time for the much predicted reverse recruitment process from abroad. Secondly (at least for IT/ITES), if the foreign customer needs remain limited, the employment euphoria may be shortlived. In the connected global village we live in, it would be hard to sustain such opportunity arbitrage between different nations. Chitro Neogy

Actually it should be "its raining jobs! but how to hire....
As per my experience the most important thing is the home work to recruiter any employee for the specific work and area.
and the second important point is the right judgement for the right candidate providing the right pay pack.
One more important view is that the specific, technical & experienced person should first interview the employee so it will be more easier for the recruiter "whom to hire"

I think companies should give preference to the talent first and the freshers who are lacking practical knowledge should be given training with less salary because companies cant wait all the time searching for skilled employees. In this way at least project can be started by experts and supported by new manpower. Raining jobs of MNC's can be filled......considering the value of money and time both. -- Suraj
