Starting off a business is much like jumping off a cliff. Similar to a cliff, entrepreneurship presents fears and emotions which prohibit lots of us to take the jump.

I would like to present some of the fears / concerns that I had and would like to get your opinion on those..

I want to jump off a cliff, So..

1. How do I begin?
2. How do I choose my cliff?
3. Should I jump alone?
4. How do I make my jump easier? Should I have a waterbed / tied rope?
5. After I have jumped one cliff.. what should I do? jump another one? tell people how to jump?

Please feel free to share views.. humorous / serious / experiences.. all are welcome.

Need not be answers alone.. Can be more questions as well.

I would be collating the best views and publish it for lots of people like me who are looking for answers for the same..

Hi Satya, This the problem everyone faces. What is the right time? What to do? How to do? & soon... I feel its all about getting into the picture & facing the music, it needs that extra guts & intuition. So start your business while you're still employed...And don't do it alone. You should have a support system while you're starting a business (and afterwards). A family member or friend that you can bounce ideas off and who will listen sympathetically to the latest business start up crisis is invaluable. It really helps.... Do the research & get professional & experts help & have a business plan end to end. The main reason for doing a business plan is that it can help you avoid sinking your time and money into starting a business that will not succeed. Prepare your mind & body & just go for it......

Answers on your questions as follows

01 You must be having something in your mind, regarding product or process. List down all those. Check the feasibility. If you are not having enough experience than go to a consultant or experience person. And select.
02. Check the alternatives and select best out of it based on cost and benefit analysis with respect to your goals.
03 Check your strengths and weeknesses, if you find for a particular field you need support, you can join the hands with them otherwise alone.
04. Always keep safety in your mind, but do not loose your risk taking behaviour. Based on your strengths, you can jump high, but better to have step jumping.
05. Yes obviously, continue jumping till exhausted, think professionally "satisfied person is like a corpse". Once you cross the expectation you will become a role model for others hence able to consult others.

Dear Satya; nothing to worry, set your objective and course of action precisely and act on it, you will definitely succeed if you are honest, smart and hard working man. Recession will give you a good platform to check your strengths.

Hi Viktor, Fogbugz has been one of the best bug-tracking applications I've used. I'm a bit biased towards this software as I am a great fan of Mr. Joel Spolsky , founder of the company. With my bias aside, the product looks absolutely amazing UI wise....
Hi Sanjay, Appreciate your comment. It is a satire on today's youth and their view of the nation. Though it sounds negative on the face, the message is very positive and aims to convey the importance of voting to people. Your comments are absolutely...
You probably shouldn’t vote!!! 1. Voting means taking time out of your precious schedule. 2. Voting means you don’t really know if your vote will be majority. 3. Voting means going standing in line (in this heat) 4. Voting means leaving your...
