JUST THINK

"Tolerance is
The Highest Degree of your Strength,

And desire to take Revenge is
The First Sign of Weakness.

Sorry to differ with you. Tolerance without any reason or your fault is mere cowardice, not even the lowest degree of strength. Once you start tolerating highhandedness, you become the target of supression by one and all and would always thrust the feeling in you as if you were and are always at fault and would shake your even self confidence. Not revenge, but must show your reaction to make the other feel his fault of unnecessarily trying impose his/her undue wishes.

This kind of thought leads India to 1000 years of colonial rule. Sacrifice for family, for the society; for the nation is very good but never tolerate the enemies of the nation.

VEry worthwhile advise, like Goethe in his Faust says, 'one should be 'simple and gentle' as the nature is so'.
Like Homer says in Illiad, 'Fury diminishes the ability of the mind to function, since the rein and spur of the mind is the work of calm minds'. One misses the ability to function when one is agitated.
Psychoanalysis considers agitated mind as the manifestation of 'fear' and 'anxiety' repressed or the work of the 'unconscious'.
It is true with Indian economy where we have billions of breaks in its free flow on a daily basis when one economic agent a citizen wrangles with his or her fellow citizen. Nice advise, thanks.

Tolerance has a finite limit, else as Mr.Dhingra has pointed out, we will become target of suppression for ever.

Thanks for your wise comments. I only like to add that when something unwanted or undesired crosses your highest level of tolerance (Your strength),you are bound to bounce back (and here it is is not weakness).

But we must develop Zero Tolerance against Terrorism, atrocity against women, poor & corruption in high places. We must avenge against the people who are responsible for this including the one who instigate such cowardice act against humanity & make sure that these guys escape punishment under this quote.

Thanks Suresh.

Suresh I think I will go with you on the subject. Actually nice thought process.
Beautiful thought of the day from our perspective. Our tolerance is greater than Himayalans from the time immemorial. We never invaded any country in the last 100000 years of our history. The invaders Ghajini and Ghori were pardoned on number of occasions by our kind kings. Thats our culture. But, what these invaders did when they succeeded? They looted the country and demolished many temples. Our tolerance should not become our weakness. Pakistan is exploiting this weakness time and again.

It purely depends upon on an individual how to take this thought.

How long we have to tolerant and try to correct continued mistakes by method of love and affection when the other side does not realize we are more tolerant and wanted to be united by brotherhood, fond, affection, cajoling? it can work in ideal society. Revenge is take for a ride even for a petty offense going to the extend of eliminating in some cases . We have seen so many newspaper stories on daily basis quarrel led to killing and many more. We are not even polite, courteous when we come out of home. You saying will found good when everybody realize that all creatures worldly beings are creations of GOD, we have to accept the world as it is, without finding out any mistakes then there would not be any revenge you can find more and more tolerance will be blooming peace in the society.

Thanks Suresh ji for this wonderful morning thought! Indians, from time immemorial, follow the first sentence. Baba Ramdev is the victim of the second sentence! Beware Indians - Pakistan also wants India to follow first sentence, not the second one!
