There are more than 60 accredited hospitals in india either by JCI or NABH and if we add hospitals accredited by ISO then the number would be above 1000.
Accredition have never helped indian patients to choose a healthcare service provider as it never clearly indicates what benefits the patient is going to get from such accredited institutions.
There are no clear demarcation for differentiating hospitals with their collective performance as one set up may be for secondary, tertiary or quaternary care.
Patients are either referred to one hospital by general physicians or person in whom they have faith or they choose independently by their past experience.
Few of the indicators I hope may help patient to choose a healthcare set up :
a) Number of patients treated (Including OPD & IPD)
b) Number of regular medical consultants on roll.
c) Types of facilities availaible(diagnostic & therapeutic)
d) Location of the hospital.
e) Regulations & management of the hospital(Govt / Cooperative or Private)
f) Accredition by any reputed agency(JCI/NABH/ISO).
g) Schedule of charges.

CSR has a long term objective in giving back to the society in whatever way society may be benefited. This is not true that all CEOs or companies are against CSR, but no institution or individual wants to contribute through any force- full statuary... |

Not only a matter of pride but also a great joy for me as I am working under the chairmanship of this great woman, who has done remarkable for the Indian society. |
