Itis widely seen that things are happening in the education sector where Private equity and venture fund are investing highly in this category and perceiving it as the hottest sector. As Helix Investments has invested $10 million in LearningMate Solutions, a provider of e-learning education solutions.

LearningMate provides various services like Content Development, LMS (Learning Management System) and VLE (Virtual Learning Environment) products. The investment would help company to increase capex expenditure and enter different verticals in education sector. The investment in e-learning is although lower compared to Learning Management solutions, the investment could very well proliferate the company’s growth rate.
With education sector being divided into different segments like offline test preparation, pre-school, vocational training, corporate training, distance e-learning, education content, Learning Management solutions for education institutes. With the demand for cheaper education in US and european market has opened up a lot of e-learning and other outsourcing opportunities for Indians, in US alone this segment is seeing more than 40% growth on an annual basis and the market there is nearly 1 billion US dollars, and with recent education reforms that we are seeing in the country it is sureshot that this education sector will be high priority for the private equity players and VC's
