When you eat too much, the energy that is usually directed toward normal body functions – healing, cell division, metabolism, and all sorts of other good stuff – must go toward digestion. This makes you feel sleepy and lethargic. You lose motivation and energy.

There is an emotional equivalent. You can extend this same metaphor to your tendency to be overly serious and immobilized over little things. When you are angry, bothered, and annoyed, virtually all the mental and emotional energy that could otherwise be used for creativity, spontaneity, and mental ambition is taken away.

When you focus on things that irritate you, it interferes with the process of creation. It keeps you down, stuck, focused not on the wonder and mystery of life and its many possibilities but on what’s lacking, what’s wrong, and all that makes you mad and frustrated.

As you lighten up, relax, and unwind, you open the doors of creativity and joy that were previously hidden. So, starting today, remind yourself that it’s okay to relax – in fact, it’s more than okay, it’s downright important.

Yes it is very good article and it is necessary to be relax from the stress. If you will relax from your work for few time, you feel satisfaction and rfreshment yourself. Only 10 min. happy moment will forget your stress or fear. And you feel more happy. So try to enjoy each moment and make it memorable...

I think when one is happy he usually looks for avenues to for more work to earn more happiness rather than look for relaxation. One who really enjoys life look for work to make himself happy thru achievements and also make others also happy in the process. In fact work is worship and worship provides happiness.

I wud probably sound a little against the majority opinion here but try n remembr the first day of ur Class X exams or Class XII or ur interviews...there is a huge FEAR tht engulfs each one of us this FEAR which is a form of negative energy helps us in not getting lethargic, over-confident, complacent or over-ambitious about our mission. Same is the case with all the negative emotions we have. Nature has built us in such a manner tht we need the negative to drive the positive. I'll give u another example: If u r a boxer, ANGER which is a negative emotion becomes ur biggest asset! U cant b a good boxer if dnt get angry after a punch lands up ur cheekbones!
positive emotons on the other hand give us a sense of wellbeing, a sense of fulfilment n no fulfilled man has ever achieved anythng worth mentioning!
In a single sentence i've learnt tht if v learn to direct our negative emotions into drivers of some kinds we can achieve far more than wht we perceive we can! :)

THANKS FOR REFERRAL. FEAR CAN KEEP U FROM TAKING UN WANTED AND UNNECESSARY RISK BUT THE HAPPINESS WHICH IS THE OUT COME OF POSITIVE EMOTION SOME HAS A DARK SIDE.. ONCE U START UNDERSTANDING THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN WORLDLY HIGHS AND LOWS AS NOTHING U R VERY SAFE.

Yes. adequate relaxation of body & mind gives fresh vigor to respond / act positively. But, too much relaxation spoils & leads to laziness. Let us be aware of it & guard against such relaxation.
