You do not let a person live in his own nation and then when he dies you offer the family member a chance to burry him in India. Why would they accept the offer?

Husain's four sons and two daughters did consider India's suggestion, but finally complied with their father's wish to be buried wherever he died. Besides around 50 mourners, London-based Indian businessmen Lakshmi Mittal and Gopi Hinduja attended the funeral.

There were many people who opposed him. They called themselves tolerant. But were they? I doubt they had ever seen any of his Art piece..

What are your thoughts about the artist?

MFhusain always acted xtra ordinarily Hindus' digested him cause the Indian constitution but many did not digest him at all. Top most club of Mumbai did not allow him entry cause dress code, bare feet. Many guys from different religions gained by adopting Indian culture in its best form and became Great like Akbar and many abused and played dirty with Indian culture and got to be known for the nuisance, like MF. He had least respect for India and Indian Constitution and fleed though his fear was unfound as we in India have not punished Afzal and Ajmal too.

Had he been a Pakistani Hindu and used Allah and Fatima as his first choice for painting the way he used Hindu Goddesses he would have faced a lot more. He was also obsessed for the Bollywood actress Madhuri Dixit, the camera focus on most of the part of Gaj Gamini movie is on her butt. But as he has died may his soul rest in peace.

I agree with all those who could not digest his painting on Hindu gods. He can be a great painter.. so what ?
I am not going to dig on how best his paintings are? Bue he cant hurt the sentiments of a section of people in the name of freedom of art. He did a blunder which was not expected of him and paid for it. No regrets at all.

A RENOWNED PAINTER LIVED IN HIS ART AS LONG AS HE LIVED AND HE EVEN FACED HUGE CRITICISM OWING TO THIS WORST SITUATION HE WAS EXILED. OUR INDIANS WITNESSED HIS PAINTINGS BUT COULD NOT COMPREHEND WHAT HE WAS TRYING TO SAY THROUGH HIS PAINTINGS, NEVER EVEN TRIED WHAT HE WAS.

NOW WHAT TO SAY, OUR INDIAN GOVERNMENT HAS ALLOWED HIS DEAD BODY TO BURY IN INDIA, DOES INDIAN GOVERNMENT THINK ITS A GRANDSTANDING? I DO NOT THINK SO, THEY SHOULD HAVE RESPECTED WHAT HE ALWAYS DESERVED FOR, AFTER HIS SUDDEN DEMISE THE HOPELESS GOVERNMENT IS SHOWING COMPASSION TOWARDS A PERSON WHO THEY NEVER RESPECTED, IT IS NOTHING TO WRITE HOME ABOUT.

HIS SOUL WILL NEVER FORGIVE THEM WHOEVER INVOLVED IN HIS EXILEMENT.

MAY HIS SOUL REST IN PEACE IN HEAVEN.

THANKS FOR THE INVITE.

No doubt, he was a famous painter, but we have never seen him to make cartoon on "Allah" as made it on mother Saraswati.

Blaming government or someone else will never solve any problem. Now we should start seeing the situation by all angles. If you see it in only your angle then you will get a chance to blame others. But then the question arises, what were you doing when he was exiled; why didnt you tried to help him or rise your voice in support of him when he was alive. Everyone can blame about the situation, only that person can be appreciated who goes in search of the solution instead.

He was one of the great artist, however he created disrespect for himself by his
bad paintings on Hindu Goddess which cannot be forgiven. At the end may his soul rest in peace.

The Hindus only forced him to exile. If the Muslims were affected they would have killed him long ago. Disgraceful paintings of Hindu deities should not be tolerated in the pretext of art. If so why did he not paint his parents in the same fashion. The ancient sculptures do not depict the Gods in such a manner.

MF was one of the finest artist our country have ever produced. He was recognised in abroad also. Some of his paintings created controversy realted to painitings of godesses of Hindu religion. An artist has right for his creation but at same time he should respect believes of common people.Have we ever seen imagination of prophet by any artist?Still this does not support his exile from country.Govt when neeeded could not give him protection is now crying for his burrial.Ridiculous and politically motivated.

Thanks,Sulagna, An Artist has no religious leanings.MFH as a Painter represented that era of "Khjurao".The people who criticized him for decades of old paintings were doing so to serve their selfish ends.As for his burial,it was his last wish.

I am one of those tolerant intolerant people. I would say "Good riddance". I still cant digest his painting our Goddesses in that way. Try naming a doll with the propher's name. You are finished. This has really happened. We atleast did not go to that extent.
