When we talk of the iPods & electronic gadgets, Apple acquires the greatest mindshare of the consumers, throught the entire globe. The high definition, trendy, sleek looking devices, once we gaze upon, it becomes difficult to remove our eyes from such sight capturing inventions and designs.
Now this time, the creation is marvel in itself. I know you might be guessing, what exactly I am talking about. If you have got it then ok, and if not yet, let's have a look ak this wonder creation. The creation is the world's slimmest and thinnest notebook computer, named as MacBook Air laptop, under two centimetres thick, and features a backlit 13-inch (33 cm) screen, a full-size keyboard and a pad responsive to Apple's multi-touch control gestures and weighing almost under 1.5 kg.
Apple built the world's thinnest notebook, without sacrificing a full-size keyboard or a full-size 13-inch display, and when you are a first time viewer, it's hard to believe it's a high-performance notebook, but infact it is.
The laptop uses Intel's 1.6 GHZ Core 2 Duo processor as standard, with an upgrade available to 1.8 GHZ. It has 2GB of RAM, a battery life of around five hours, and an 80 GB hard drive.
The new machine features a full-size keyboard and LED-backlit 13.3-inch display with built-in iSight, and the new larger trackpad supports multi-touch gestures. Just like the iPhone, you'll be able to pan around, pinch to zoom, and rotate with two fingers, and move windows with a flick. Apple got the size down by using the same 1.8-inch 80GB drive that's in the iPod classic, but you'll be able to order a 64GB SSD as an option. The Air eschews optical media, but there's a separate external you can snag for $99 and Apple's also announced a feature called Remote Disk that'll let the Air get data off the optical drive in any PC or Mac running the Remote Disk software.
Positioned between Apple's entry-level MacBook and its pricier MacBook Pro, the MacBook Air measures only three-quarters on inch at its thickest point. It is made of aluminum -- Apple is moving all it s products to eco-friendlier materials -- and has a black, back-lit keyboard.
When closed, the MacBook Air has an unusual wedge profile that tapers to a point less than two-tenths of an inch near the front latch. With characteristic chutzpah, the thickest section of the MacBook is thinner than the thinnest competing sub-notebook in the market.
Despite of such innovative technological attributes, there are severe criticisms as well, like the premier pricing, less demand, superdrive, ethernet. What is interesting to see is that, will the features and designing attributes overcome its negatives in the near future or not.
