Madras University has some of the best management gurus  teaching top class management functions. The department of Management studies is located in a serene and posh building near the Bay of Bengal inside the university campus.

University of Madras offers management degree in 3 streams namely, Marketing, Finance and HUman resources both in regular stream and self-supportive stream.

If you are a graduate you already have enough discipline to study for an MBA in the self supportive stream. I really think those who go for regular stream in MBA are looking to be spoon fed and they are not strong as those who go for self supportive studies.

I have overwhelming reverence for the University of Madras as it is a premier institution started by the Normans who landed in Chennai from England. UNOM can beat Delhi , Mumbai and other claustrophobic universities in India.

Take a bet and you will be surprised that you are on the winning side. I really wonder why they did not change the name to University of Chennai, I suggest that University of Chennai is apt.

My last message was meant for Sonam Kapoor...it is given again:

I have seen a lot FMS Delhi University MBAs doing very low end jobs in USA and Canada. Some even end up as developers at IBM (a humdrum coolie job normally given to Indians).

The fact that you could not make anything of yourself beyond a run of the mill IT programmer after your MBA from FMS Delhi University speaks volumes about the real level of the b-school.

Don't even dare to compare FMS Delhi University with IIMs.

I am a proud alumnus of DOMS, University of Madras and our batch of 1983 even had a silver jubilee re-union last year. There are many institutes in top ranking compared to University of Madras. Probably DOMS never embarked upon a publicity campaign as it is a university Dept. Beautiful and serene atmosphere of the dept building. It was really a nice experience for me.

I think that is the reason Madras University's MBA is nowhere not only in the world, but also in India. In Indian universities, the best MBA university which comes after IIMs(The best in India) is FMS in Delhi University. In the entire world Harvard business school from Harvard university is the best...
