Different countries have different approaches of doing business in their own country as well as outside their home country. The business in particular nation is influenced by its demographic, psycho graphic, Socio-economic, Political and Legal environments.

In India, we are having an extensively diversified culture,we need tailor made solutions to our conditions. The culture and values have direct influences on our decision making abilities and we are having our own nationalized set of solutions. Our culture and behavior guides us towards the new future of retail marketing in which the stability and consolidation is replaced by speed and imagination, transactions are overwhelmed by relationships. So there is a commitment of long term profitable relationships.

But were lies the challenge in Managing Retail Industry is in handling the ground-staff, who work the most and are paid less. About 90% of the employees in Indian Retail sector flourish on ground level.

How to handle them in the best appropriate manner will be a real challenge, just by motivation or monetary terms is not the solution.

Give employees opportunities to grow 3. Get creative with benefits 4. Help employees to achieve work/life balance 5. Create the kind of environment where people can do their best work 6. Insist that your employees take vacations 7. Give praise where praise is due 8. Conduct “stay” interviews regularly 9. Recognize that great employees thrive under great leaders 10. Create an environment of trust between employer and employee

Hi Safeer , I agree that managing employees in the retail sector is a challenging job but why do you think that motivation and monetary terms is not the solution ??? Any specific reason ??
