For those in advertising discussing Future of Advertising, here is an interesting case study.

McDonald’s hasn’t over played their hand in the social space so far, and that’s probably a good thing for most brands to consider when getting into social media. What I like about the McDonald’s approach so far, is that they are there listening, have become willing conversationalists and are activating engagement, BUT are not trying to be over night heroes in launching the next Whopper Sacrifice Campaign or Ikea Facebook Campaign.

Good one shiuli, I knew about this whopper sacrifice earlier, this was a very good strategy by them, people were curious to know who they sacrificed to get themselves a Whopper & this made the content go really viral, where people started discussing this on facebook, this in a way was a win win situation for both facebook and Burgerking which created really good traffic to the site and the outlet respectively. thanks for the referral.....
