Mind your mobile Some Vital Statistics to ponder ……… 
  • As many as 10,000 mobile phones are stolen every month in the city of London.
  • In DELHI, about 900 cases of mobile phone thefts are reported to police though majority of the cases go unreported.
  • Two thirds of the victims are aged between 16 and 25. Many phones are also stolen from unattended cars.
 You can prevent your phone being stolen. Read on for some practical tips….  
  • Keep your phone out of sight in your pocket or handbag when not in use. Treat your phone as you would any valuable item.
  • Use your phone's security lock code, if it has one.
  • Always make sure your PIN number is activated. This will prevent unauthorized calls being made on your phone if it is stolen
  • Record details of your electronic serial number (ESN) and consider separate insurance.
  • Your 15 digit IMEI number is marked on a sticker beneath the battery or appears on the phone screen when you key in *#06#. Make a note of this number and keep it safe. 
  • Report a lost or stolen phone to the police immediately
  • Inform your service provider if your phone is stolen or lost along with IMEI number.
  • Do Not to attract attention to your phone when you are carrying or using it in the street
  • Leave it and you may lose it - Not leave your phone in an unattended car, on the shop counter, restaurants……..
  • Be smart, backup - Losing your phone can be a hassle because it can also mean losing all your numbers try to take frequent backups of your phone / SIM Card.
