Oh those English!
Exclaimed Bose saheeb, munching his marie biscuit and sipping his morning tea, over the days Newspaper.
“Hmm, now what will happen to our eligible girls and boys, do the English think, that by making the imperial language test mandatory for selection, they can stop our eligible dames and damsels to cross the London bridge?”
Mrs Bose, came onto the balcony, water dripping from her hair, taking the wet clothes of her shoulders, and one by one hanging them to dry on the balcony string, she commented: Ki bok -bok korcho, saath sakale, “what are mumbling early in the morning?”
Bose saheeb, taking another sip from his cup, in great contemplation said, Oh The English- Bhangbe kintu mochkabena- “The English spirit, they’ll prefer to die but will not surrender.”
Mrs Bose, finally turning around and looking at him, while draining some water from her tresses, Ki holo ta ki- “What has happened?”
Bose Saheeb, you can very well ask Mannu now to enrole for an MA in English, rather than her sitting for the GMAT exams, because the imperials are again to display their imperialism, now making the language as the means of weapon! OH Those English!
Soon this will be a talk of the town as the new English govt has passed a diktat for their eligibility criterion for migrants to pass the English language skill test to enter into England. For a job or even if one is looking for a spouse to getting entry. Even if the other spouse is settled in London and now the partner has to join him/her according to new rule has to pass the English language test, to enter.
As the economy of Europe has started to stumble by these rules may be they can put a pause at the rate of migrants crossing over to the so called greener pastures!
