Very few MPs are competent, qualified, or work for nation building. Self interest, vested interest in their folowers, the party to which they belong, and parochial interests hold sway in the minds and actions of most of them.
Qualification, competence, performance in their elected posts, or even a simple attribute like %age of time spent on productive parliamentary legislation do not have any weight in their pay packets.
So what do we do? I believe we can and must raise public awareness not to vote for these people. We must create a wave to build pressure to make MP's performance in parlaimentary legislative work the sole criteria for their earnings paid for by the tax payer.
Does any one support this belief?

Only we think it is a shame on these people. They are least bothered about all these rather they care the least for all these.Their single minded objective is to get power, amass wealth in the shortest possible time.
we are helplessly watching s select few looting our country`s economy, waiting for things to happen which will never happen.

Thanks Shilpa for the reference. But only thing I can say that nothing can change the way our government works, because we ourselves are selfish and elect political leader for our selfish needs. How many of us have ever tried honestly to change and force political leaders to work for the country? Only if,and when we start thinking that first and foremost we all are Indians and going to change leaders if they don't show the result. Trust me, we can really bring the change.

Shilpa thanks for the referal. I have in a earlier statement already said in a country where per capita income is Rs. 37000/- per annum there it is a matter of debate and really very bad for the country in general. I think there is no country in the world where the peoples elected representative decide their own pay.

On top of this most of these people have additional income in form of bribe. It is actually a murder of democracy.

The politicians are offshoot of poly-trade.They are trading charges to keep them energized. The price they are being paid for is to keep the democracy alive and juicy.
Thanks,Shilpa for referral.

There are several old sayings"........baantey revadi baar baar khud deiy".
"... ko ustara do, kuchh to karey gaa"
"....Nagari Chaupat......."and so on
... and they are not meaningless for sure.

Shilpa, thanks for the reference. I guess, its worth it, considering our politicians are lowest paid in around the world. Also, it should motivate our youth, efficient CEOs, retired IAS officials, Judges, Working class people to join and compete in politics. If a youth toils hard for IAS, they can now look up to compete in elections and get the real power with money. We are making it a real job instead of it being some fake social work. We all know that anybody can blame the system and politicians for all the wrong doing to our country but only people with real guts can compete that arena and fight people with money and power.
Thnx for the ref shilpa, we would not have come to this situation, had their being any accountability, on our part, since independence, it was our apathy, and make do attitude, hypocrisy which has led to an environment, which breeds every type of social malice , in any form.
