As we all know the reason behind the association of bollywood celebs in IPL is MONEY and BRANDING and FAME.
But preity has one more reason to it...

We all know that Preity Zinta owns a part of the 20Twenty team Kings XI Punjab. But not many know her actual reason for joining the IPL..

She had a plan to start a special sports school in memory of her father, but then "I put off that idea due to lack of funds. However, determined about starting something sports-related, I chose to get into the IPL." revealed the dimpled actress,

She stated that her father was passionate about sports and used to sponsor poor children who were interested in sports. After his death, she decided to start a school that pays special attention to sports. It was to be a huge project. But she didn’t have the resources to start it just yet. So she put that dream on hold.

At that time IPL was a hot discussion and therefore she thought to herself, ‘Why not get into the IPL?’. I’d been hearing a lot about it. And that’s how it happened."

So how is it ....??

Why so much fuss on a right type of investment that should have come into sports? True Cricket does not require it but cricket has always been the leader. I for one would hope that other sports too can project the potential and attract if not Preity but other stars!! I have almost spent my life on the theme that sport is better served and developed, if it is considered part of leisure. Why should a sportsman always profess that he is playing for his country.... After all, he has trained for it, he had talent, he spends his life achieving something and at the end of it, he has to please some inefficient sports association presidents and secretaries..(bureaucrats too!!). It is hightime that our outlook on sports should improve.

Himanshu I think its purely a business relationship now and hence they need to be together for the sake of their funding supporters!

Actually it is about Ness Wadia that's what I feel. Ness is the business tycoon with the moolah not that Preity is not flush with funds but I am sure it was Ness' contribution that helped her achieve what she did!

Great preity your father used to sponsor poor children who were interested in sports. and you sponsor poor cricketers who are interested in getting Money and Ads. IPL is not played for country but for money and advertisement.

Thanks for sharing.
But I feel it is a fabricated story only to defend the desperate bid to make money in her depleting cine market.May be her dream might be real but IPL investment was a pure business motive. Otherwise there are lot of other sports or events that happen in India.
What do you say??
