When I was working in Raymond's limited i use to give top priority to process management.. What i believe is for a successful product to make the process has to be in line and well verse to the requirement of the product specification..i think maturity comes with experience and my experience say that flexibility should be there in the process..Todays world is highly competitive and getting customer for your product is not very easy..again getting order in bulk is a distant dream.so the concept should not be here of mass production rather than it should of batch production.
But i not saying that ignore product management, Because todays customer require every day a new product if you cannot provide then some else is there to do..so why should not you be the first!! For this to happen your product management strategy should be good..
Looking to the Toyota story mentioned in the article it can be said that you don't have to be big in order to do big..what is required is a vision and a goal.. Many companies mistake the two as being the same and that is a source of problems.
Consider the analogy of the function of Engineering and the role of a software engineer. The former includes the latter, but there are other roles in engineering, such as architect, development lead, interaction designer, tester etc. that help compose the role of Engineering in the company. Each of these roles plays a well defined part in ensuring the output of Engineering meets demands and expectations. The same is true for the function of Product Management.
Process Management and Project Management go hand-in-hand to deliver a successful project. Both are critical components for organizations development. Each has a clearly delineated area of responsibility. What do you say!!!!!!!

Any interview is the biggest hurdle for a fresher, and at times even the experienced candidates don't do good at these, so the insight that you've put is good and the answers are also good and simple, so thanks for sharing the insight sanjay.... |
Nice insight...every day do one thing of which one is afraid of, this will do really good to overcome the fear of failure.... |
Nice one Viktor...as days goes by there is something else that is new that comes along...as that was the case of IT and other industries in the past as every one jumped to this bandwagon... |
