  1. What are the rates charged by Indian BPOs for Telemarketing (outbound) to US?
Anywhere from $9-12/hour. The login hours is anywhere between 6.5 to 7.5 hrs excluding lunch & tea breaks. In more than 95% of the projects the billing is by login hours and not man month basis. Billing is based on a base rate plus incentive for achieving the target which will give you anywhere between $9 to $12 per hr. $12 is probably the best case scenario.

It is subjected to the Billing Model of your organisation and Indian ITeS and IT Sector. Common Billing Models: - • Per Call Billing (T&M with Not-to-Exceed clause) • Per Seat Billing (Fixed-price Project) • Billing per FTE (Monthly Resource-based payment) • SLA based billing (Milestone-based payment schedule) • Per Hour Billing (Currently fading in call center industry) Others • Per minute billing on incoming/ outbound calls • Billing on Production hours • Fixed priced, etc. PS: - The price range varies for different models and is not always between the price ranges $9 - $12. It is completely dependent on the type of business rendered. Based on my experience of handling offshore/ onshore/nearshore projects, here is the sample current price range for offshore projects (India) from one of our competitors (Name cannot be shared because of integrity issues): - • $10 - $14/ hour, purely Technical Processes Outbound. • If you consider Communication Cost to be included, the range typically between $12 - $16/ hour for any outbound process (including miscellaneous expenses like incentives etc.) • A typical Inbound Customer Care Projects ranges $8 - $10/ hour (example hotel reservations, ticketing, mortgage, insurance etc.) • E-mail projects are specifically based on volume type that is received and the billing is based on the accuracy delivered. Billing can also go in cents/ dollars depending on criticality of the project Last but not the least, factors that we consider for offshore billing/ pricing are discussed below: - • Type of project • Nature of work • Criticality etc. I hope that answers your query. Thanks Dheeraj Kapoor
