This is what True Love is all about:

It was a busy morning, approximately 8:30 a.m., when an elderly gentleman in his 80's, arrived to have stitches removed from his thumb. He stated that he was in a hurry as he had an appointment at 9:00 am.

I took his vital signs and had him take a seat, knowing it would be over an hour before someone would to able to see him. I saw him look at his watch and decided, since I was not busy with another patient, I would evaluate his wound.

On exam, it was well healed, so I talked to one of the doctors, got the needed supplies to remove his sutures and redress his wound.

While taking care of his wound, we began to engage in conversation. I asked him if he had another doctor's appointment this morning, as he was in such a hurry. The gentleman told me no, that he needed to go to the nursing home to eat breakfast with his wife.

I then inquired as to her health. He told me that she had been there for a while and that she was a victim of Alzheimer' s Disease.

As we talked, I asked if she would be upset if he was a bit late. He replied that she no longer knew who he was, that she had not recognized him in five years now.

I was surprised, and asked him, "And you still go every morning, even though she doesn't know who you are?"

He smiled as he patted my hand and said, "She doesn't know me, but I still know who she is." I had to hold back tears as he left, I had goose bumps on my arm, and thought, "That is the kind of love I want in my life."

True love is neither physical, nor romantic. True love is an acceptance of all that is, has been, will be, and will not be.

With all the jokes and fun that are in e-mails, sometimes there are some that come along that have an important message, and this is one of those kind. Just had to share it with you all.

Ya. It is the Best Example of  TRUE LOVE and RELATION between two people. Not only me but everyone has to accept that. But once that type companion is available his/her life willl be in colour ful till end of life.

It is very easy to state that thats the example of ture love. And it is also true that this is really an example of true love.I think any body whoever reads this article shall express the sameway. At least people of today's generation's expression will be in the same line as expressed by most of us. But the fact is that true love is not a mechanical duty. As I feel the old person love his wife to such an extent this activty gives him real pleasure and enjoyment. This feeling is actually love, not the duty bound assignment of attending his wife. In this kind of love, enjoyment of soul of the one, who is loving is more than the one being loved.

Wow!!.. Credit goes to that woman than that man. Love doesn't come just like that, with marriage or just having relations. How many of us love our mother, just because she is our mother in relation?.

She must have done something really outstanding to make him mad with love over her. Kudos to her.

When you are at peace with yourself, people you love and care are an extension of yourself. All the love and fights between husband and wife gets true to this and beyond. I remember my mother and the pain she had towards her last few years of life and my father in those circumstances. A very good story indeed.

It is a true Indian love. These kinds of stories will more often occur in our country. Be proud to be an Indian for this reason only. True love generates from sacrifices and sacrifice generates from a clear hearted person. A clear heart is a reflection of clear mind.

This story is very touching and certainly adds pride to the emotion called LOVE.
It reminded me of the novel 'The Notebook' by Nicholas Sparks in the year 1996.

Thanks for referring the story to me Shalini. I was indeed touched to read it. Yes, I believe this is what true love is all about. It is not just a mutual give and take as we normally believe. It has more to do with giving than it has to do with taking. Not expecting anything in return is indeed true love. Another example of true love is that which a mother has for her child. She never expects anything in return.

It is a classic love story..
Love is so important in life...

Love isn't blind .. its just that love doesn't mind anything.. doesn't see any boundries.. 

So heart felt.
