Nowadays, I have seen so many postings, debates, ideates are on TOOSTEP portal, why it is so, because of election 2009.

JUST have a picture of Indian politics and feel that you will be in developing country always, forever.

Otherwise open your vote and elect a good person. JAGTE RAHO

Really a class analogy..

An Old Story:

The Ant works hard in the withering heat all summer building its house and
laying up supplies for the winter.

The Grasshopper thinks the Ant is a fool and laughs & dances & plays the
summer away.

Come winter, the Ant is warm and well fed. The Grasshopper has no food or
shelter so he dies out in the cold.

Indian Version:

The Ant works hard in the withering heat all summer building its house and
laying up supplies for the winter.

The Grasshopper thinks the Ant's a fool and laughs & dances & plays the
summer away.

Come winter, the shivering Grasshopper calls a press conference and
demands to know why the Ant should be allowed to be warm and well fed
while others are cold and starving.
NDTV, BBC, CNN show up to provide pictures of the shivering Grasshopper
next to a video of the Ant in his comfortable home with a table filled
with food.

The World is stunned by the sharp contrast. How can this be that this poor
Grasshopper is allowed to suffer so?

Arundhati Roy stages a demonstration in front of the Ant's house.

Medha Patkar goes on a fast along with other Grasshoppers demanding that
Grasshoppers be relocated to warmer climates during winter .

Mayawati states this as `injustice' done on Minorities.

Amnesty International and Koffi Annan criticize the Indian Government for
not upholding the fundamental rights of the Grasshopper.

The Internet is flooded with online petitions seeking support to the
Grasshopper (many promising Heaven and Everlasting Peace for prompt
support as against the wrath of God for non-compliance).

Opposition MPs stage a walkout. Left parties call for 'Bengal Bandh' in
West Bengal and Kerala demanding a Judicial Enquiry.

CPM in Kerala immediately passes a law preventing Ants from working hard
in the heat so as to bring about equality of poverty among Ants and
Grasshoppers.

Lalu Prasad allocates one free coach to Grasshoppers on all Indian Railway
Trains, aptly named as the 'Grasshopper Rath'.

Finally, the Judicial Committee drafts the ' Prevention of Terrorism
Against Grasshoppers Act' [POTAGA], with effect from the beginning of the
winter.

Arjun Singh makes 'Special Reservation ' for Grasshoppers in Educational
Institutions & in Government Services
.

The Ant is fined for failing to comply with POTAGA and having nothing left
to pay his retroactive taxes,it's home is confiscated by the Government
and handed over to the Grasshopper in a ceremony covered by NDTV.

Arundhati Roy calls it ' A Triumph of Justice'.

Lalu calls it 'Socialistic Justice '.

CPM calls it the ' Revolutionary Resurgence of the Downtrodden '

Koffi Annan invites the Grasshopper to address the UN General Assembly.

Many years later...

The Ant has since migrated to the US and set up a multi-billion dollar
company in Silicon Valley
,

100s of Grasshoppers still die of starvation despite reservation somewhere
in India,

.

..AND

As a result of loosing lot of hard working Ants and feeding the
grasshoppers,

Developing countries will be developed countries sooner or later. India is not an exceptional case. Only dedication and hard work are needed.

Nitin I believe you have shown the real picture of India nowadays..... because of politicians and many Indians those who follows blindly, to these selfish people....those who are talented we dont feel proud of them instead we feel why they are that talented... and now they will be rewarded more.. we play politics, instead of learning from them and this way we loose their talent... and countries like US & UK they pay high and regard these people that's why they are developed countries..

The one example of this is -- their are many indians in Obama's government, obama himself is a non-american and heading the United states

Good insight..... like your version of Indian politics. However, some countries are worst off than India.Due to the large population in India....all deficiencies in the status of different categories of the people will bound to show up.Just hope for the best at the next election.

Nitin, You may be right, (I never went for PhD.) but same can happen to you anywhere in the world. If you believe me, Chandrashekhar (Noble prize at the age of 75 or so) had an English guide Eddington. He dissuaded his work only to accept it after 20 years. For 20 years, the mathematical work of Chandra was claimed to be on wrong calculations. He was in his 20s then and he lived with it and even ridiculed. Find out his biography and you will know more of it. Performers cannot be stopped anywhere in this world, one needs to fight for himself. At the same I believe, life is unfair and its still very good. Good luck man!

Now ants are coming back. Agreed with Tanmay. You know Tanmay, it is not an article related to reservation. Why it comes in your mind, because of this politics, and this environment politically polluted in which we have grown. All the way this article is related to a non performer and performers. If you are doing a thesis work under a guide, you work hard and come out with good results, but denied by your guide that this is not a good subject. After sometime you find that somebody has submitted the same work after some manipulation and got recognized, how you will feel?

Ants going to US is a thing of past. I cannot ignore the hard work put up by many indians to show us this day. Metro in delhi is an inspiration to hard working indians. Compare yourself with Pakistan and you can see. We have survived and are doing much much better. We have instead forced Grass Hoppers to pack up for US. They now know, that even an stupid can survive in US but not here. Grass hoppers are dying in very part of of India. Please don't post such articles and give grass hoppers an idea to call press conference in india. Reservation is an abuse to our society, someday soon we will scrap it as well.
