A recent news item :"China wants access to Seals' copter remains' published in TOI dated 13th May 2011 interested me.China is apparently pushing Pakistan for full access to the wreckage of the stealth helicopter that crush- landed and was then destroyed by the US Navy Seals during their Osama bin Laden operation in Abbottabad. The Chinese military wants to ascertain if it can get "a grip on the kind of advanced stealth and military technology being used by US.' by examining the debris.The Chinese are masters of reverse engineering.They have reverse-engineered a lot of Russian military hardwares in the past.

nice article!! china can produce any thing in this world but not war plane engines and they know that! that's the rason they are still buying Aeroplane's engine from RUSSIA!

Yes you are correct Mr.Mohammad Ji. Almost the RE has been practiced by all knowingly or unknowingly. Even India is developing from the technology transfer but it can not be construed as RE.

Basically reversed engineering was discovered to develop components of old machineries which were out of production line. This acumen has now been used to copycat the product of new generation. some may say it is unethical,but is on use mostly in every areas. With certain limitation USA are also allowing RE. Fundamentals to RE are reduced expenditure on R&D,quick assembly line.
