What are the Responsibilities of a C.E.0
The other day someone posted a news about 60 million Indian graduates without work this year. This begs the question what could be the responsibilities of the CEO which need be looked into.
A CEO is supposed to be responsible for a lot of things, some of which are,
1) Adequate growth for the Company
2) Adequate Investment growth
3) Target new employment level generated every year so employment level of economy can be
4) Quality of the product offered so risk of litigation and market distortion prevented
5) Maintain price levels of products sothat no inflation is generated from his/her end in the economy
6) Long term directions of the company
7) Short term directions of the company
8) Maintain and improve Stock Holders value
Once each CEO is responsible for most of these criteria then his job well serves the long term existential criteria of the company in the economy. Business Schools need to train the students to such level they can be prepared for such future roles
