My one of the friend Anand M posted an one of the good and interesting debate i.e.

Just wanna share a story here .. I believe management science specially HR can be understood through our history, Panchatantra, Jatak Katha and other ancient documents in better way, instead of following current books, case studies etc ...... Its my opinion ... and may be wrong ... need your feedback. But you have to read Anand's debate and part in that after reading this story ... please do that..... your real contribution will be reflected in his debate ....
Lets start ... its a real story ... you can find historical evidence of the same.....
Almost four centuries back, in 16th century .... one of the small state in North India near to Agra .... ruled by King Devdatta... that was the great state ... full of all resource ... area covered 100 Km radii ..... .. since last 4 years, were facing the less crop, no rain, dried all around .... therefore fertility of land went off and lack of food was there .....
In his courtyard .... during meeting ... some young people suggested that they had a 40% population of old means above 60 age people who were not working, similarly the same in animals .... so better to remove all these non productive element  will help in this time of starvation ....
Proposal was good ... so it was decided to leave all these non productive people and animal to be shifted to out of the state boundary .... neighbour king took a serious objection .....
Again brain storming started ... and finally decided to kill all non productive ..... King ordered his army head Balbir to kill all ....
Balbir was not in support .. but he had to follow the order .... so he did that ..... somehow he managed to save his father. His father was farmer and 80 years old. Underground dark room was his destination  .....
After three months again the problem remain same and even took a worst shape. Even people ate seeds and finished the stock ....
God was with them ... after four years they got the rain .. but no seed was there .... King was in dilemma ..... no body was there to suggest the solution ......
One day Balbir went to his father .... He was in a bad mood ... father asked for that ... he said all ..... father started walking and told him that the same situation was faced when he was kid .. that time one old man plough the streets, where cereal loader use to follow .... what ever the spill over cereal on the street became the seed .. so find out the route and plough it ....
Balbir share this idea with King ... King agreed for that and they got the crop .... But king understood that this idea must be given by an experienced person ....
He called up Bilbir and put him behind the bar ... because he did not follow his order and after one day prison .. Balbir releaved from prison .... and got the gift from King because he saved the rest population .....
But King Devdatta understood that analysis and decision is important .... and this maturity comes through the experience only..

Nitin, Too good in Too step. I cant understand some peoples view that only youth can able to do all the good things. Another example just imagine the Number 1 test ranking of Indian cricket team once the BUDDAS of Indian cricket, our beloved Sachin, Dravid and VVS retires. Can the present youth replace them especially in the match out side India

YES & NO. I wish there there exist a 'NUTRAL' side also in all such arguments. May be Toostep's organizers have a look into this.

In addition to what I mentioned ealier, that it shall be a combination elders and Vigor of youngsters, I would like to add that basically this is being what is being adopted in almost every organization. Youngsters placed in government with IAS, IPS, IFS, IRS, ITS selection and training process and the MBAs from management institutions placed in private establishments are exactly with this idea.

In that respect this topic is out of place. If the author's suggestion that everyone in management position should be replaced with youngsters, it does not appear tenable neither to any logic or sense. Does it mean that youngsters will remain young and not become old.

A so called 'youngster' who acquires commensurate qualification and experience for a senior managerial position will be at least in his late 30's. Naturally he is expected to worke another 15 to 20 years while the 'youngster' status changes to 'Elder' as he grows in his position and eventually he quits.

Fact being so, as visibly seen in such topics, that late generation youngsters want to grab the jobs in senior management positions without going through the pain of growing and gaining experience. This this is evident from another posting I saw in Toostep suggesting that retirement age should be reduced to 45.

OK, there is a more serious side to these arguments. In many public institutions and establishments, people enter in lower grades reach management position though regular time bound promotions. The system as it is may not be as effective as the direct recruits though there are many exceptions too. However, such considerations are based more of a social obligation with certain known but affordable perils.

The worst of all is that the ones who decide the country's future are mostly of the older lot and here we need a quick change. Perhaps, this is an area where we need to raise our voice more.

Mr.Aras valid counter answer to the question, just adding my point of view.

Age & Youth are the inevitable truth of life like the formation of “Nature” and a homogenous mix of both adds value to the better functioning of the World, Society, community, organization and even at ones own house, in an ideal situation. Even like you refer to the ancient philosophers of Hindu age, where the four stages of Human life (four ashrams) were very well demarcated and followed:
1)	The quest for knowledge (Brahamacharya)
2) Family Life (Grihastha)
3) Retreat into the Forest (Vana-Prastha)
4) Renunciation (Sannyasa)
But there are few examples and spheres in current India where “Age” is not following the graceful retreat stage and thus not letting the “Youth” to learn experience and empower their understanding. Thus upsetting the functioning of the life/ professional cycle in an orderly manner.

Good Article Nitin Sir. I believe in the statement "Only a good follower can be a good leader". Experience of following respective leaders over the years is the value the HR mustn't ignore. Secondly, only time tells you the value and the use of time which is necessary to put skills to application. Risk taking abilities should be a part of a game plan. Getting a young prime minister in UK should thus be seen as a game plan rather then a trend.

Good one Nitin, and after seeing Anand's debate and your reply to that and the article over here, I think we are seeing this trend Nitin where youngsters are given a chance, organizations want to run their ride of luck with youngsters at the helm with some outrageous and fast paced decisions, if it clicks they are in for a long time and if not they can again go back to the old strategy of theirs whichever it was. When a Prime minister of a country can be in his early 40's the latest British PM, then anything can be possible in an corporate organization..but we need experienced guys mentoring these youngsters all the time to make sure they don't get carried away....

Good one Mr. Nitin,& I appreciate your way of thinking. The time in which we live requires fast decision making with a good presence of mind. These characters are overflowing in the youths of today. Problem is, youth sometimes get carried away in their dreams & there need to be a supreme authority to direct & guide them.

And you have made a good point that experience does matter & I completely agree to it. SO, what companies should do is to hire young bloods into the top management & see that there is a proper balance maintained. It doesn't mean that the company will throw all its old experienced directors & managers. Harmony should be maintained to grow & succeed.
