Most Important Question

During my second month of nursing school, our professor gave us a pop
quiz. I was a conscientious student and had breezed through the
questions, until I read the last one: 'What is the first name of
the woman who cleans the school?" Surely this was some kind of joke.
I had seen the cleaning woman several times. She was tall, dark-haired
and in her 50s, but how would I know her name? I handed in my paper,
leaving the last question blank. Before class ended, one student
asked if the last question would count toward our quiz grade.
Absolutely, said the professor. "In your careers you will meet many
people. All are significant. They deserve your attention and care, even if
all you do is smile and say hello". I've never forgotten that lesson. I
also learned her name was Dorothy.

Hi friends,
The above story is not about the name only.
It’s about our behavior towards the person who use to clean our washroom at work place or doing similar work for us. The story not teaching us to go and ask the name but behave humanly with them.
I hope now you clear what this story say.............:)

Good lesson but too difficult. Practically it is not possible to remember the name of each and every person.

ofcourse people are known by their deeds and their contribution to others, their attitude....etc..but we remember more of people whom we normally interact (may be emotionally, physically, socially)

there are many people I know with the same name....but what remind me and differentiate them is their nature, professionalism and attitude the most! thanks Miss Yogita for sharing.

As rightly said by Mr. Muralidharan it is all that DEED more important than mere names.

I endorse Mr. Raju's views on this! Its an humongous task to remember names of people you meet and interact with. There is nothing in names and forms, everything depends on "deed"! If you perform a good deed, your name and form will automatically come to fore when people discuss about it!

Not able to get that point. Normally we get to know the names of the people with whom we interact. Not those whom we only see. It is humanly impossible. sometimes it becomes difficult remembering the names of all the persons with whom we have interacted.
