Toyota Australia is using BEA WebLogic Integration to underpin its eBusiness Transformation Program and provide the plumbing for Java-based applications and Web services. The eBusiness Transformation Program is part of the company's overall strategy to implement a Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) to broaden the accessibility of existing applications and accelerate the rollout of new applications.
Key Business Results:
- Since early 2003, Toyota has successfully delivered six projects using BEA software. The six applications were deployed as services within the SOA.
- Exposing functionality and data as services across the enterprise helps reduce overhead by eliminating the need for infrastructure duplication.
- Enables Toyota Australia to link sales, marketing, manufacturing, and financial applications in real-time, which improves customer service by making up-to-the-minute information accessible across the value chain.
- The eBusiness Transformation Program is the tangible result of an SOA strategy, with integration via standards-based Web services not expensive & inflexible custom connections.
- Ensures that neither Toyota nor its trading partners will be limited by proprietary technologies.
With SOA, toyota is marching ahead with the technology development in terms of reduced cost and improved customer service.
