The last time I checked news, it was a swamiji in Bangalore attacked by an unidentified man who opened fire against this guru, I mean all of a sudden why are we seeing these spate of attacks on these swamiji's, earlier there was a sex scandal where Nityananda swamiji video was shown all over the media channels..

Though ravi shankar was unhurt, but a devotee sustained minor injuries, police officials said. The guru is a modern-day spiritual icon among many in India's middle and upper classes.

"I don't want a security wall between me and my devotees who come to see me. I have forgiven the person [who fired] at me totally," Ravi Shankar told a news channel after the incident. It is unclear who may have targeted the guru, who runs the thriving Art of Living Foundation in India with branches all over the world. His foundation has run yoga and spiritual classes in war-torn Afghanistan, Iraq and Sri Lanka.

Is there something fishy here with all these swamiji's in India, are they making a  fool of people by saying those things and are they taking public for a ride with all those spiritual teachings and their branches all over the world and doing some illegal acitvities under the mat, with all that political backing these swamiji's get, earlier also we have seen many of the swamiji-political nexus...don't you think so people.......

It cud b anything, they r perpetually in public eye.. it is also easy to give them give them a bad name and brand them as godman etc.there r may sides and sheds to it... lets not go by media reports alone..if they r fooling people then they will be caught.. instead of analysing spiritual gurus lets practice their teachings...if one can and want to...

THE SAD SITUATION PREVAILING IS MANY OF US WANT TO BECOME RICH OVERNIGHT AND DO NOT WANT TO HAVE ANY PROBLEMS.TO ACHIEVE THIS SOON WE SEEK UNSCRUPULOUS PEOPLE.THEY EXPLOIT US TO MEET THEIR ENDS.WE HAVE TO BE CAUTIOUS WHEN DEALING WITH THE SELF PROCLAIMED GODMEN.IN THE RECENT PAST THERE WERE ONLY MANY INSTANCES OF THE STORIES OF MANY FAKE GODMEN BEING EXPOSED..

Thanks for the referral Mr Kiran Kumar.
First I like to ask why these type of people are attacked? The reasons are best known to God alone.
I believe God only, I believe my conscience, I believe work is worship.
All religions are good but all the spiritual gurus need not be believed, except a few like RAMAKRISHNA BARAMAHAMSHAR, SWAMI VIVEKANANDA, SAI BABA, SWAMI RAGAVENDRA and similar gurus like cited and they were lived as what they preached

Your Title and Description are not in sync just like current media(that includes print and TV) reporting. It looks like that you already came to conclusion that something is wrong with Gurus. What is the outcome about previous incidents and why do they not appear in news media after initial hype. If they really providing news, then they should show court proceeding, and finally show whether they got convicted or not. If they are not showing final verdict after court proceedings, then media is working on behalf on someone BIG to destroy the culture.

Given the life-style of their i-pod carrying, top-executives, I wouldn't be surprised if some skeleton come out.

Mr Kiran, it was not at all an issue.HM has clarified that fire took place after the spiritual guru left the place.

Hello Kiran, It is very sad these kind of incidence is happening in-spite of their security. They should upgrade the security system for swamiji's and visiting devotees.

A lot of people are doing mischief in the name of religion and spirituality. It is hard to know the difference between a true GURU and a false.Religion has become a money making business and every one is trying to en-cash it. The main thing is that we should try to understand that GOD does not ask us to come through some medium, there is direct contact, and instead of running behind GURU'S we should run after GOD directly, we can find GOD faster that way.

May be his Art of Living fails that's what these incident shows.India is very popular & well respected for Spiritualism. Spiritual leaders , generally lives reclusive, keeping away from normal syndrome of population. These leaders helped society to wake-up to good deeds & traits required so that, everybody leads a comfortable & also a prosperous life. They never fall pray to any GLAMOR whatsoever that they come across. But, what happen today, right from Pope to Swamiji's gets into clandestine or murky deal with politicians. This nexus drives all what we see today. Swamiji's either in sex scandal or bogus ashram for swindling money for filthy politicians.Enormous Mandirs, Swamijis & Politicians yearn for money & glamor shortly.Net result is what we see.

There can be lot of possibilities. Though these gurus are honest, in today's world any guru having public image will get dragged into political environment or into blackmail incidents.
