Will Media players such as iPods may or may not affect the working of heart pacemakers, a research has been done on this :

A variety of iPods showed they did not produce enough of an electromagnetic field to interfere with the devices.

What some researchers  have done for building report for the same : Have a look ...

FDA researcher Howard Bassen and colleagues set up a complex experiment using a saline-filled bag to simulate the human body and a coil sensor designed to pick up electromagnetic emissions.

They measured the magnetic fields produced by four different iPod models: a fourth-generation iPod and an iPod with video, and an iPod nano and an iPod shuffle. They also measured the voltages delivered to the inside of the pacemaker by the magnetic fields from the iPods.

The measurements indicated the iPods could not affect cardiac pacemakers.

"Based on their observations of  in-vitro study they concluded that no interference effects can occur in pacemakers exposed to the iPods we tested..

Now let's see this example for this :

Last May, a study presented by a 17-year-old high school student to the Heart Rhythm Society annual meeting in Denver caused a stir when he said he detected electrical interference half of the time when the iPod was held 2 inches from the patient's chest for 5 to 10 seconds.

Well this research has been done only on i-pods made by Apple .

But I think what is the creditability of this report , Are we actually affected by the radiations or waves or its just a suggestion by few researchers . What is your opinion about this ..............
