--Complex Supply Networks and Production Processes
--Collaboration with multiple partners (Inbound as well Out bound)
--Growing Customer Expectations of real time commitment
--Unplanned Events and Exceptions
--Balance actual customer demand with available supply
--Optimize Supply Chain (Lean Supply Chain)
--Balance & optimize supply and demand
--Achieving above in profitable and efficient way

yes Mihir Supply chain planning is very much needed....and the points which you have mentioned and for all those supply chain planning is very much needed.

Dear Mihir...

The market for supply chain planning is growing as companies are seeing results. It is about moving towards synchronized concurrent planning from earlier synchronized sequential planning. And nowadays it is more towards real-time planning and execution. 

Mihir, I am adding this knowledge item to the current topic of the week.....
