  1. ANDROID-  open source but with a closed development. SYMBIAN- out and out an open source.
  2. ANDROID- has an integrated network accelerator. SYMBIAN- does not have an integrated network accelerator for smoother and clearer video calling.
  3. ANDROID- android 2.0 consists of the firefox mobile web browser for a faster browsing experience. SYMBIAN- can download only one file at a time, however multi window browsing facility is now available. 
  4. ANDROID- being an open source with relatively closed development ,users can access thousands of applications. SYMBIAN- however being an out and out open source it offers a huge third party applications.
  5. ANDROID- very poor support for web games, which makes it quite unusable for playing online. SYMBIAN- wide compatibility with devices makes it a good choice for gamers.

Actually we r using symbian since last many years.. And as a human being we need diffrent in every aspect. Agreed tht symbian has been change to itself but android is new for us and its powered by google so generally youth are preferring android rather thn symbian

I think symbian is more phone than any android. With good time of life from battery, multitasking and other. Symbian devices was made for videocalling, and adnroid - usually not. Android has many crytical bags for business usage. For example problems with battery charge, with install on memory card. I hope it will fix anywhen.
And symbian devices don't have individual design. Samsung, LG, ZTE, Motorola etc - only logo is different.
I can choose android for only network usage.

I think android is time tested. Hence better.
